AC Air Handler Safety
Not exactlly what I thought I was getting. This device uses a cupped disc rather than a bouyant float. Works fine though. I like the external indicating pin to show water level. Also uses a wiring connector.

The circuit is configurable. Normally closed or normally open
I actually love this float switch. The switch actually has a pin that is not used on the three pin connector. This means that it has normally closed and normally open available by simply depinning the connector and repinning it. This was important because I am using it in a plumbing stack to indicate if there is a sewer back up. If the water backs up, the float switch is activated and makes the connection for an alarm circuit (Instead of just overflowing the basement bathroom that never gets used with sewage from upstairs).

Why the new design is better sensor cap
Too bad they dont offer the cap alone. If you have the original style sensor cap where the plunger stalk is thin with the snap fit float get this asap....the old style snap fit legs fatigue and then the float sets off the relay....you think your heat exchanger is dead....and it's this assembly shutting down your system. Place some gorilla tape over the top of the old cap pushing down the black plunger from the top to get your system working again and when this one arrives just swap out. Boom your done. Fixed.

Love the plunger indicator on top of Switch
I tested it before installation adding water into the pipe, and with my voltmeter connected to the end of wires and it worked like a champ. The switch went on and off properly without hesitation several times. After I installed and wired it with my unit on, I asked my wife to verify If the condenser unit turned off after I lifted the little plunger it has protruding out indicating that the float is being raised. The condenser unit turned off as it should have. Then I let it go and the condenser unit came back on.

Rectorseal 83226 EZ Trap 226
Its funny how something so insignificant can stop your furnace from working. If you have an EZ Trap that's the first thing you should check if your furnace quits. The fix is simple but if you don't have one on hand your in a pickle. Keep an extran one handy.
