Ticonderoga Pencils, Wood-Cased #2.5 F Medium, Yellow, 12-Pack (X13885)

I've used Ticonderoga #2.5 Medium pencils since high school. These are the pencils my dad used--no idea why, but I've remained faithful to these. They provide just the point I prefer, and they sharpen well. The lead does not fall out the way it does in cheap pencils. I've never had a standardized test returned because I didn't use a basic #2. As a bonus: It's really easy to tell which pencil is mine! I work the table at high school sporting events, and unprepared coaches are always grabbing any pencil they see on the table. More than once I've asked for *my* pencil back, only to have the unprepared coach tell me that the one he's holding(yes, it's always a "he")is his. I'll say, "2.5?" and hold up my other pencils or the box. Then they'll say something like, "It's just a pencil." No. The Ticonderoga #2.5 Medium is NOT "just a pencil!"

Great pencils. Love harder lead to stop smear but soft enough to be dark enough to read with no problem. The F lead seems to be a perfect happy medium. These really are good pencils - I just have 1 minor problem with them - they are kind of hard to sharpen with a small manual sharpener. The wood gets stuck very easily, forcing you to go backwards and try forward again. I have a large hand-crank sharpener that has no issue with these at all. 4.5 stars if I could give that.
