The Best Of Me

The music and Bryan's voice make for very enjoyable listening. I use it to do my exercises.

For me, this is an excellent Bryan Adams collection. It has more romantic and serious songs than fun/happy ones, and that suits me just fine. A couple of songs that I wasn't familiar with are quite good: "The Best Of Me", a mid-tempo cut, and "I'm Ready", a slower number, are both given sophisticated musical treatments. As for the essential ballads, I had forgotten how beautiful "Let's Make A Night To Remember", "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" and "Please Forgive Me" really are. I feel that I can immerse myself in them, like in a warm bath. Of course, no Bryan Adams collection would be complete without "Run To You" and "Everything I Do", and they are included also. Another good thing is that out of the upbeat selections, "Cloud Number Nine" is practically a dance song, and "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me" is hip as hell. This saves them from being just "happy". (Why is that important? I guess, as Bryan himself would put it, that just plain old "happy" doesn't look good on me.) And Bryan's amorous vibe goes right to the core, so I'm feelin' it, ya know? If I could own only one of Bryan's CD's, this would be the one.

Must admit, where have I been all these years away from Bryan's superb artistry. No wonder he's Canada's best selling rock & roller. I simply love The Best of Me. It's now one of my favorites, & often played tunes each time I need a soothing break from the blues of the pandemic. You got to experience this CD. It's just simply great music, wonderfully delivered with great heart felt lyrics. I'm a fanatic for his style of rock & rock heaven!

(Everything I Do) I Do For You was a hugely-successful song co-written and performed by Bryan Adams, featured on his 1991 album Waking up the Neighbours and on the soundtrack for the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991). It was an enormous chart success internationally, sixteen consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart (the longest in British chart history), spending seven weeks at number one in the United States' Billboard Hot 100, and nine weeks atop the RPM singles chart in Canada.The record won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television at the Grammy Awards of 1992 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song.
