Kudos to Tough Mode for making the perfect running shorts. These are super light and allow for freedom of movement. The material handles sweat well, drying quickly, and doesn't scratch, chafe or otherwise irritate the skin. I love the flat, smooth waistband that doesn't pinch or leave marks on my skin like gathered waistbands do. It also doesn't create bulk like the gathered waistbands do. The liner is light as a feather and I don't even realize it's there. It's also the bikini style liner (rather than the bike shorts style) which seems to be harder to find these days for those of us who prefer it. They sit perfectly and comfortably on the waist below the belly button. The length is long enough for coverage but short enough for comfortable movement. All of these design features add up to a high performing pair of shorts with a fitted profile that shows off the results of all the work put into tough workouts. Oh, and they come in lots of great colors. I've already bought two colors and will be adding more to my collection.

Perfect shorts - but I had to try a few to get correct size. Per chart my waist should be medium and hips extra small. The medium was just too big sticking out sideways on the legs and did not work for me. The waist band is stretchy but secure, the size small was perfect but the extra small was tight/workable. Best advice: Size down 1 from your actual waist measurement as needed, and size up 1 from hip measurement as needed.

I love these shorts. I wish there were some in navy or bring back that black camo I see in other reviews! I bought a second pair because I love them so much. I am 5’ 1”, about 125-130, and I tried a small at first. They fit fine everywhere except I didn’t like how much extra fabric was in the back hanging down. I don’t have much of a booty, so the loose long fabric in the back wasn’t doing me any favors. I returned the small and tried an extra small. They fit perfectly now. At least the way I like them to fit. A bit snug in the waistline, but not a deal breaker. The material is soft, smooth and silky. Very lightweight. They haven’t bunched up in the heat, sweat and activity yet. I recommend these for actual exercise and athleisure wear. Cute! Comfy! Functional!

I originally got these shorts in purple riptide and was pleasantly surprised at how little they ride up while running. They do still come up a little bit sometimes, but I think that’s just the case for any body who has thighs that touch to varying degrees and this style of short. It’s not a full-blown, scrunched-up, obscene situation, but they’ll flip up a bit on the outside at the top of my quad. The liner stays in place. I’ll take it, as I’m in a hot climate and just having more air moving through my lower half feels better. I just ordered the riptide gray and the ice breaker, too. I will note that the ice breakers are only a 3” inseam, vs the riptides that have a 3.5” inseam. Both are size medium. Other reviews of the black ones indicate the inseam on those is 2.5”! It was visually noticeable right away so I pulled out my tailoring tape to measure and confirm. The shorter inseam actually seems to ride up less on my body, as they end before the thickest part of my thighs. There is also less coverage on the backside. The waistband for both styles is snug but comfortable and very wide. I think if I sized up to make more thigh room they’d be too loose to run in. The rear pocket fits my regular iPhone 15 without the case comfortably. There’s no bounce and I’ll forget it’s there. Overall, this is a better designed short than most I’ve tried.

The first pair I bought were magnificent!! Lake blue. Size medium. I’m 5’4” 146 pounds . Waist 29 hips-around butt 40. I’m picky about athletic shorts. I worried about it being too tight in the thighs. These are perfect. Love them so much I bought another pair. Black.same size but. slightly smaller.. but still great. I wear them doing HIIT, strength training, walking on treadmill.. these do not bunch up or bind or anything. There is a mesh liner that is comfortable, don’t even notice it. The waist band is soft. They are short, but not too short. They are comfy for the whole workout. I even wear them hanging around the house. Bought my 3rd pair and received a used pair.. smelled of laundry soap. It wasn’t just used once either.. been washed so many times the printed size, info, etc on the back inside was peeling and missing letters. .. that was weird. The shorts were actually different too. Slightly different - but not what I ordered. Returned them. Waiting for a refund. When that occurs I do plan on buying more. Hopefully I’ll get new items and the proper ones. These are great shorts though. I would recommend!

I’m 5’3, 128 lbs, smaller waist and thicker thighs for my size. I love these shorts have silicone grips on the thighs so they do ride up. The material is think enough to not feel cheap but I have 3 stars because I washed the once after just trying them on and now there’s a weird worn out spot right on the butt. I don’t know if these will last but happy to update later. I was super excited about these at first, I do love the fit. I got a size medium, normally I’m a small but I don’t like when things squeeze too tight. Look cute & comfortable to workout in.

So comfortable and they look so good! I have two pairs of these and they’re always my go to. Casual and working out!

Really nice quality, accurate sizing will buy more of their gear.
