Good quality, reasonable fit
They run a bit big, I have a 30" waist and went with the Small, which fits quite well. The material and construction is all high quality, though there are a few nicities that could be better. The main colored material is really stretchy but durable 4-way stretch fabric. The seams are solid and the pockets have micro-teeth zippers so they close tightly. The draw string is solid and the elastic on the waist is good. They stretch a ton for things like rock climbing, and are thin for keeping you cook when you sweat. The style had slightly flared leg openings, but certainly nowhere near as bad as basketball shorts.Unfortunately they are in the same price range as Anthem brand shorts, which I ordered at the same time, are almost identical, but are even higher quality material, construction, and design, so take the rest of the review accordingly. The pocket interiors are made of a light stretchy material, but are a little too narrow for my hands to be completely comfortable grabbing my phone (which is huge and fits in the pockets easily) without rubbing uncomfortably on the zippers. The pockets are only attached to the interior at a couple points, so having a heavy phone, wallet, or keys will bang around a good bit (Anthem attached the pockets all the way around). The waist band is quality elastic, but standard thickness (as opposed to Anthem which has especially thin but equally as durable elastic). Possibly due to sizing, the Small size I have fits my waist, leg length, and leg circumference well, but the pockets that are clearly supposed to be side-of-hip pockets end up being halfway front-of-hip pockets (can't speak for Anthem, I got a medium for them). I would probably have gone with a medium size for my 30" waist 5'7" 180 lbs knowing what I know now, but I'm right on the size boundary. All this said, they're great shorts for when you need empty pockets or no pockets (zipped closed) most of the time and need extreme stretch with durability, but occasionally need to stuff somethings in pockets between your car and the gym or something.

Compared to Anthem Athletics Hyperflex workout shorts, these fall (a bit) short (6" inseam)
I bought a number of these G gradual workout shorts after I bought Anthem Athletic (AA) Hyperflex 7" workout shorts, but was hoping to save a few dollars since these are about 40% cheaper (roughly $24 vs $34 at the time of this review). Here's a quick comparison between the two:- Fabric quality and comfort are both excellent. AA doesn't publicize their fabric blend, but I suspect it's the same or at least very similar to the 87/13 blend used by G gradual- Waistband and drawstring are both very similar in terms of quality and thickness of the waistband. Both are very comfortable and seem built well. The waistband length of the G workout shorts is a bit smaller compared to AA's shorts, but still remains very comfortable- AA uses branded YKK zippers, and G uses a very similar zipper. In fact, they would appear the same except G zippers do not have the YKK imprint. Zippers for both open and close without snagging.- The pockets are cut with a very similar slant- The stitching for both shorts seem of good quality. I had no loose strings and the stitching seemed even and well done.- The G logo appears pressed on whereas the AA logo is a tag that is stitched into the shorts. Thus, I'm sure the G logo will rub off in time.So pretty much everything about these G shorts is the same as the AA hyperflex shorts such that you would think they are being manufactured out of the same factory.BUT, the one glaring difference in both these 7" workout shorts, these G gradual workout shorts have a 5.5" - 6" inseam (pictured) whereas the AA have a true 7" inseam. Thus, these G shorts do ride up the thighs a little higher and are also fit a bit tighter compared to the AA hyperflex shorts when I compared both of them in size small, which was perfect for my 5'6", 135lbs, 29" waist frame. So in summary, these G workout shorts do appear of excellent quality, fit, and finish and seem comparable to the AA Hyperflex shorts, but don't quite have the advertised 7" inseam and thus run a bit smaller than expected (hence the 1 star removed).

Nice shorts, but order one size up!
I have purchased the G-Gradual 7" Workout Running Shorts two times and have liked them very much, so decided to try out this different style. The fit is for these is different from their other shorts: they run small. I ordered XL in the other style of G-Gradual, and those were perfect. My first order of THESE shorts was XL, and they were very snug; I think the issue is right across the hips. They're cut for a very svelte, slender guy across the hips. I am a bit stockier with big (not THUNDER!) thighs, and the XL in these shorts pulled very tight across the "package". My spouse was not a fan of the big :) reveal. So I returned them and ordered XXL. They fit like the XL in the other shorts, and are not ginormous/baggy as I feared.I love the color, the weight is good, the material feels good, and they don't bind in athletic endeavours. Think they will be a good addition!

Undersized
I bought an xxl because I like roomIn the hip. These fit like a large : extremely comfortable and nice material and design but most certainly the tightest pair of shorts I own or that I’d ever be able to wear. I’m only a little overweight with a medium athletic build. I’m wearing shorts right now that are xl and their big and baggy everywhere .

best sports shorts I've ever had
I use these for boxing and racquetball. they're the best sports shorts I've ever had. I love the pockets that are more on the side with the zipper because stuff in your pockets doesn't flop around. comfortable fit, snug without hugging.I'm actually considering throwing all of my other shorts away and ordering about 5 more of these.
