Am using this grey tank deodorant for the first time and trust the manufacturer claims because I have been using the black tank deodorant for some time and find it really works well. I cannot say the same for the competition. During the hottest period of summer the tanks on the old RV are fresh scented and what a relief that is! Breaks down solids well and have had no problems with caking or clogging. I recommend Walex for your RV grey and black water tanks.

We’ve always used these types of deodorizers in the black tank of our RV, but recently discovered these for our sinks and gray tank—great addition.

We have a dry bath shower drain in our truck camper that would often drain slowly from gunk and hair building up above the P-trap. This stuff just melts it away and I’m sure it does the same to any build up in our grey tank. I used to try to fish it out with a screwdriver but now I just drop a tab over the shower drain and watch it dissolve as I spray it with hot water from the shower head. I’m sold!

We have Grand Design Solitude 5th wheel with two gray tanks - One for upstairs (shower & sink) and another for the kitchen. We usually keep the upstairs tank open, since the shower fills that tank way faster than the other ones. However, we use the downstairs tank closed (and count on that for rinsing the sewer line when we dump tanks every couple of weeks). Despite being a new rig, we did notice an odor & gave these a shot. Seem to work great & the smell is wonderfully refreshing. Couldn't be easier to use.... Just plop one on the drain, run the water over it for a moment, and you're done. My only gripe is that given how few come in each pack, they seem overpriced. That notwithstanding, our kitchen sink odors are gone!

I am not reviewing for rv tank smells but smell that may rise from home bathroom sinks! This stuff is great 👍 I broke the disc in half and set it on my 2 sink drains. I had heated up a pot of HOT water and poured in both sinks as disc's dissolved. It has been a week and no longer have that rank odor. If it creeps back up I will continue with this treatment! This stuff is great!

These are my favorite to use in the sink (gray water tank) of our rv. They work phenomenally and are so much cheaper than a camping world! Definitely recommend these they are the easiest to use so far and really work well.

UPDATE: 09/18/25 Typically I split a tablet in about thirds... 1/3 for kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower. Have not noticed any odors from the tank surging back (although a lot of that could be attributed to the traps in piping). gvm Does what it claims... although I have never been inside the grey tank of the RV to check, everything runs smoothly and no notice of smells aside from the very light fragrance of the tablet

I have been using Walex Elemonate (Fresh Lemon Scent) for several years in an RV with Gray water holding tank. I have never had any odor problems when consistently using Elemonate. It is easy to use. But one recent problem that I discovered is that Elemonate doesn't totally dissolve. It seems to have a small amount of silica like material that must be there as part of the reaction needed to dissolve grease and organic sludge. We have a large particle strainer in the sink. So it is unlikely that we are the source of the undissolved particles. After several years of using Elemonate there is enough of the silica like material that has collected that my waste pump shut down. I used a non pump method to clear the tank and then used a rotating spray head (purchased from Amazon) in the chamber to clear out the silica like material. Now the waste water pump works just fine. I dissolved one of the Elemonate tablets in water until all that remained was a fine silica like material. So depending on the setup of your RV Waste system Elemonate may work great or it may lead to extra work down the road.

Helps to get rid of the smell of left over fish when washing dishes. As a Canadian we don’t have the garage disposal like the US has (at least not that I have seen in households) so this makes a big difference

Didn’t do the job

We had previously used a liquid grey water treatment but it was frustrating trying to determine if you were using the right dosage since the packaging was opaque. I thought we would give these a try the last time we took our RV out and found them really easy to use. They dissolve in seconds and the scent is far more natural than some of the odd ones I've seen out there. They seemed to work well, although I had hoped they would help with the incorrect sensor reading and they did not.
