Grammar Galaxy: Protostar: Adventures in Language Arts: Volume 2 Paperback – 12 Jan. 2017

I’m so sad to write this review. The idea for this curriculum is genius, and we were so excited to use it. Unfortunately, it is full of errors and the stories are poorly written (mostly from a literary perspective, but also grammatically which is especially disappointing in a grammar curriculum).It is clear to me that there was no review process and no editing on this curriculum. Sadly, I would warn others away from it.

I love the idea of using creative and memorable ways to learn. The stories in this curriculum bring a unique and fun approach to learning English. Our daughter has English as a second language and I didn’t want her first lessons to be dry memorization of vocab words. That being said, some of the vocab words are more obscure and there aren’t definitions, just a single synonym given. Which we don’t love. Example: Cameo - brief

My 9 year daughter is currently working on lesson 8 of grammar galaxy! She enjoys it. Very interesting stories that we like reading together. She retains a lot of information from the stories so when she does the worksheets it is simple because she understands it. Highly recommend!
