The Seventh Ray Book IV Omnibus, The Violet Ray

A great read and an asset for any occultist's library.
Written for OTA associate and active members, this omnibus publication from the Church of Hermetic Sciences is chock full of valuable information for any student of the occult, casual or otherwise. This book is loaded with essays and history from various respected authors as well as esoteric editorials from Frater Thabion, Grand Magus of the Ordo Templi Astarte.Although released for members of the OTA, I found that many of the essays presented in this book can be valuable for any student of the occult. It offers insight and perspectives from individual practitioners on a wide variety of subjects such as The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, the OTA's Tarot, The Lemegeton, and Jungian and Kabbalistic theories and philosophies. This book also serves as a glimpse into the past of one of the (if not the) oldest magical orders in the US and is replete with its history and traditions. I personally found the OTA's Tarot (I intend to ask how to acquire this particular deck in the near future!) and Solomon's Cipher very fascinating.

Important History and a Vision of what Can Be
The Seventh Ray Omnibus is a collection of the original 7th ray journals. These operated as a 'zine for the Ordo Templi Astarte in the 1970s. These issues are delightful windows into the the popular occult movement of the 1970s west coast and provide the reader with valuable insights that are just as relevant as today. Throughout are comics many of which are eerily relevant to today demonstrating that subculture leads cultures as 50 years later many of these questions remain unanswered. I strongly recommend this collection.

Finally learn how to pronounce YHVH!
This occult zine collection from the 70's is invaluable to OTA members, as it fills in some important blanks and answers a lot of questions. The amount of research and experimental practice from all the people that went into this system over the years is mind-blowing. Thank you, not only Poke Runyon, but everyone who has contributed their time and effort, heart and soul, to bring about the CHS material. The hardcover Violet Ray is a beautiful book!
