it works perfectly with the iPhone 7 but I can't say it will work with the iPhone 8 you need have to try it if not then return it

Will it transfer data? Such as listening to my music in my car, through the aux cord?

Don’t listen to Caleb. It does in fact WORK with Apple CarPlay. The no wireless charging I could live with, but Apple CarPlay was a MUST for me as I use it every single day. After digging and looking through countless videos and forums, someone answered my question, it does work with Apple CarPlay. The first thing I did was test that out right when I got it. IT DOES WORK !
