Great Trekking Poles
I was surprised by the sturdy bag to keep the poles and endpoints in. I loved how the poles were marked so I could easily keep the same height on both poles. They were a cinch to lock in place (although I did peek at the easy directions). I am going to love using these trekking poles around the neighborhood so that my heart has to work harder (without feeling extra exertion). Win win!

MUST ENGAGE LOCKING PIN
There are several 1 star reviews saying the trekking poles collapse. You MUST ENGAGE THE LOCKING PIN. This is my first experience with trekking poles. The instructions were easy to follow and the poles slide together easily. Pull down until the locking pin engages and Voilà!!

Great for the price
Have used these for around 70 miles so far over multiple trips. They work good and feel light. Only issue I’ve had is tightening the clamp on a trip can be hard so if you put too much weight on the pole it can shorten forcing you to adjust it. Not a big issue just the only flaw I found.

BEST Trekking Poles
Everyone tells me that they are too tall for me, but when I walk with sticks with my hands at my elbows, I start to bend forward like an old lady. With these poles (I wish they could even be 6 inches taller), help me stand up straight. They are light weight. The quick snaps hold and don't let the pole collapse. I can compact them when I'm not using them so they don't trip anyone. Then 2 quick snaps & twist, they are tall again. Much easier assembly than the twist-torque poles. Yes, they are more expensive than the twist-torque poles, but well worth the extra, in my book.

good for urban hiking
I recently had a knee replacement and needed something to help with getting back to walking. I am using a cane to get around and thought of using hiking poles as canes for walking. I started using these poles last week and what a workout I get. The hiking poles add about 20% of the power to the walk and I get an upper body workout as I am hiking. I walk on neighborhood bike paths and the rubber tips give good traction. There are carbide tips for trail work. While my knee rehabs the poles take some of the work from my knee. The poles are made of stiff light aluminum and are adjustable just like a camera tripod. With the poles I can walk faster with less knee discomfort. They help with uphill and downhill. I have done cross country skiing in the past and this is called Nordic walking because of the poles similar to Nordic skiing. Good dry weather practice for winter cross country skiing.

recommend
good tip selection. easy to adjust. light. comfortable in the hand. easy to extend and lock. measurements on pole make it easy to re-extend to you're desired height after telescoping or lashing to your pack.used them to hike the narrows in arches and the devil's garden loop in zion. they worked flawlessly, didn't slip, snap or otherwise malfunction, and they're tucked back the bag ready for another trip.

Take a hike
They are not the lightest, they are not the stiffest but for the price they are great. Used many times and they are holding up well. I bought the carbon ones to start with and had good luck with them as well but broke them due to a very slick trail. I went with aluminum this time because they cost so much less and are not that much heavier.
