GE WR50X55 Defrost Bi-Metal Thermostat, Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat Replacement, HVAC Control Thermostat, Metal, Internal Mount, Touch Control, 2.3V, Genuine GE Appliances Part

Used this part to repair GE refrigerator with the help of a YouTube video. Took less than 5 minutes plus the time to unload and reload food in the freezer section.

This thermostat came with white wires when the original had to different colored wires. I contacted the support people as I wanted to make sure I had the correct replacement part. I gave the support person my refrigerator model number for them to research. They said they did not have my model number on file and could not confirm this was the correct replacement part. I therefore searched the internet on my own and confirmed that this was the correct replacement part as well as the white wires worked fine. It did not matter which white wire were connected to which colored wire. It would have saved time if the support desk was able to confirm my concerns but other than that all worked well.

Very quick and inexpensive fix for Amana side-by-side fridge. The previous defrost thermostat failed causing the internal circulation fan to not run and the fridge to not cool. Swapping this one in fixed the problem.

Couldn't find one with the right temp range but I insulated this one a little and it has been working fine in my off brand freezer. No more defrost problems.
