I first ordered a denim blue Derby Walking Cane in 2012. For me, it's a perfect cane--light weight, sturdy, comfortable, and reliable. The shape is graceful, the color is beautiful. The curved handle makes it easy to hang up, and I also occasionally use it to pull something to me. I feel very comfortable and confident walking with the help of this cane for balance and steadiness. In 2021, after nine years of heavy daily use, I belatedly realized that I probably ought to have a spare, since I rely on it so much. So I ordered a second, exactly the same as the first. I'm glad I did. And the second cane is as fine as the first. It's been useful having a spare. For example, I used the spare for a few days after I left my cane in the back seat of a friend's car when the friend helped me out of the car and gave me their arm into my house. I can even lose track of my cane in my house for a few hours once in a while. But now, in late 2024, I seem to have lost one permanently--it hasn't turned up in two weeks. Good thing I had two! Now I need a new spare, so I'm ordering another, exactly like my first two. I'm very glad they're still available!

The cane is slightly tampered from top to bottom going from approximately 7/8" from were the handle meets the shaft to approximately 3/4" to the tip under the rubber foot, the diameter at the base of the rubber foot is approximately 1 and 7/32" wide. Hope this helps it's one of the best looking and convenient canes I own, and unless you have the tools to cut to size, remember to give the height size you want in your order and they will cut for for you before shipping. I personally think it's the best option for a collapsible cane as I feel more secure with a solid wooden shaft can than I do with a hollow tube that's segmented and collapsible, but as I said it's my opinion and YMMV. Plus the compliments and beautiful stylish look of wood makes it a fantastic purchase to last for a lifetime of use.

This is a very nice looking, stylish cane, which is the primary reason I purchased it. Functionally, it works very well, I'm over 250lbs. but the cane is plenty strong enough for me. It fits nicely in the hand. It's also very light which makes it a pleasure to handle. The only negative is that it scratches, dings and marrs easily. If you drop it or knock it over, it will end up with a mark on it. So handle it carefully! One additional thing that may be of concern is that most people will need to cut the cane down to the proper length. Instructions are provided, but this could be a problem for folks without the proper tools. You really should use a miter box or chop saw to ensure the cut is square. Despite its sensitivity to marks, I'd buy this cane again, it's quite spiffy.

I am extremely pleased with this cane. I chose it based on the solid wood as portrayed in the photo. I chose it based on the solid oak construction. Oak is a very solid wood used in furniture, building and ships. The brass collar added a very nice distinctive touch. I had a concern about this (and other canes) offered in only one size. These canes are offered cut to specific lengths on other websites at a signuficant cost. I e-mailed this mfg, Royal Canes, and they provided excellent information AND directions on how to cut this cane to fit me. It was not needed since the cane shipped with specific directions with illustrations on cutting to messure. It comes with a rubber tip so no trimming is needed after cut off. I am overjoyed at the quality, the very distinctive and distinguished look and the feel. This is a high quality cane. It is studier and LIGHTER than my drug store aluminum canes.

I compared this Amazon price of this Royal Canes cane to the manufacturer's website, and it was actually cheaper on Amazon when you include the shipping cost. It's my 2nd Royal Canes cane, and I'm super happy with the quality and appearance of them both. I'm 6' tall and 220 lbs, and after trimming off 1" (from 37" to 36") it's a perfect fit for me. The woodgrain one I have is beautiful, but this black one is really classy looking. If you need a cane, I highly recommend any of the Royal Canes options, but especially this one!

I was disappointed that the design was only at the very top if the cane. The photo made it appear that the design went the length of the cane to make it more attractive

I love using this cane. Not only does fit my hand perfectly, but it also is gorgeous. It's easy to adjust to one's height; all you have to do is remove the rubber foot and cut it down to size. I somehow managed to drop my first one off the fourth floor of a building at my school and it snapped off part of the handle. I immediately ordered another. Great cane.

This cane is attractive as well as sturdy. I feel very secure using it. The color and wood grain make it very fashionable. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the slight hook at its end allow hooking it over the back of a chair so it doesn't keep falling down when not in use.
