Fantastic for canning foods and entertaining
This ladle is somewhat similar to the dippers my grandmother used when she was alive and had a well. I even went to church and they had these dippers to drink from. I got mine for funneling out foods to put into canning jars, or for big stockpots of chili, homemade soups, and cheese dips. It is very strong and nice looking also.

Dipping Up Goodness
As a little girl, I drank fresh cool water from my grandparent's artesian well. They used a dipper to drink from the water drawn in a wooden bucket. These memories were sparked when I saw Paula Dean use a dipper to dip her homemade soup/dumplings on one of her videos. I do a lot of canning when veggies are in season and I ordered a set of three dippers from Amazon. They are perfect for many occasions, but the memory of drinking from one as a child made me even more excited when they arrived. Try something just because it brings back something sweet from your childhood. They are worth many thought of those memories.

quality
I bought this dipper to use when canning my vegetables because I have to use boiling water. I wanted a long handle and this dipper has it. It has a curve on the handle so I can hang it on my pot rack when not in use. I would purchase this dipper again and do recommend it highly.

Not stainless steel
It says it is stainless steel but is not, tested with a magnet no pull from the dipper. Must be polished aluminum. It is nice though

Stainless Steel Dipper
It was what they said it was and I am happy with it. It works well and I use it as a water dipper. You will not be disapointed in this purchise.

Not a great option for canning
I tested a lot of canning ladles.I paid for all of them, and have not received any reimbursement for my review.Prepworks (8oz plastic)Professional ergonomic ladle (8oz stainless)Water dipper (stainless 2 cup)Another 1/2 pint ladle (very wide, grey and plastic)And the Rosle (8oz stainless)I saw people rave about each... Here is what I found after canning 200 pints and 2 dozen quarts.Plastic ladles are less expensive and come in a few different sizes. They attempt to provide a more comfortable pouring spout and mid-shaft hook, to keep the ladle off the counter and in the pot, without fouling the handle. They are always at least 2 pieces and surface textures vary. People often suggest buying an extra 1 or 2, to accommodate future failures. While prep works is a smooth surface, fruits and jams still collect on the bottom and in the spout, frequently dripping and leaving food in the ladle, effectively reducing the amount you can transfer to a jar and increasing clean up time. The other plastic ladle had a flat bottom, and was textured causing even more food to stick. I found both to be cumbersome with odd pouring angles. I also felt like I couldn't get them clean, because of the seams between the parts. The water dipper and the professional ladle had similar issues, as they were tack welded together, and left areas where food was nearly impossible to clean out. They were a decent grade.of stainless but still had an awkward angle. The professional ladle was also uncomfortable and a little difficult to control. Ultimately, the inability to properly sanitize was a deal breaker. The Rosle...Stainless , highly polished to promote food transfer - checkSingle piece construction - checkAngled handle for a more comfortable pour - checkPouring lip to deter spills and drips -BIG check!Single, lifetime purchase - checkCons - initial price appears to be more expensive - but it's the basically the same as what you'd pay for multiples or back ups of others.I'm the long run, I found the Rosle to be much more effective, particularly if you plan on doing a lot of canning.

Great product, even better customer service
I ordered the large ladle, but it was out of stock so the merchant sent me a smaller ladle with a very nice note and grilling tongs (free of charge) and then sent the regular large ladle I ordered a week later. It’s a great study product and I would definitely buy from them again!!!

Wouldn't be without them.
I live off-grid and have no indoor plumbing. These ladles with their extra long handles allow me to dip water from my holding pot into cooking pots while keeping me safe from minor burns from the woodstove. This is especially important when I'm brewing beer. I love them and I bet you will too.

Misleading
It shows 3 in all of its photos, but say 1 in items shipped. The metal under the chrome is unknown. It is chromed on the outside. This is NOT a stainless steel item! It is cheaper to just go buy one of this quality from any local store!
