Fear For Me: A Novel of the Bayou Butcher

Mixed feelings on this one. The romance between Anthony, a US Marshall, and Lauren, the DA, was odd, emotionless for the first part of the bk and a bit on the dark side. HA! For a time I was wondering if the author was really gonna pull a “who done it” on Lauren and have the strangely obsessed Anthony do her in. So as far as the romance is concerned – this was a fail for me. I never connected with that relationship at all. There was more emotion from the FBI profiler than the cold heroine.The suspense part of the story was pretty darn good. The story was out of balance for me putting the focus more on the thriller than the romance. After about a third of the way through I wasn’t sure that I wouldn’t just skim this one. But the suspense finally snagged my attention and had me hooked. Had to stay up late to finish just to find out the identity of the killer. Clever author puts the focus on so many people and leads the reader is so many different directions you’re not sure who the killer is until the very end. I love it when the author keeps me guessing.Of course there’s an HEA for our odd couple and I’m glad they got the closure they were looking for. So despite the relationship disconnect there’s entertainment value in the suspense element. I’ll have to go with an overall rating of 3.5 stars.Romance = 2.5Suspense = 4.0Rating =3.25 but I’ll bump to 3.5

Oh.this is another hit for Author Cynthia Eden!!!!!!!!!!She did it again with Fear For Me,excellent read!!!!!!!!!!I was hooked since the first page until the end,sitting on the edge of my bed cause i was trilled with this read,excited,curious,figure it out what was gonna happen,figure it out who was the killer....I mean this book is D@mn good!!!!!!!!!!!The suspense,the thrilling part,the want to know,the urge to found out who did it,how it happen,the plot,the mastermind behind it,the twist,the investigation,the evidence,steamy scene,and so much so much...it felt like i was part of the team,into the story,working with them..WOW!!!!!!This how i felt for it!!!!!!!!!!Loved it until the end.....Author Cynthia Eden sure did not disappointed me,she has delivered,developed well,written well this storyline perfectly just as the characters Lauren & Anthony but also others personages,Paul,Cadence.....All work together in this tale to finally give peace to what this killer has done and more....So i will suggest you to read it and see how excellent this book is also the series/can be a standalone....Well Done!!!!!!!!!!!can't wait for more!!!!!!!!!Look forward to read more!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my first Cynthia Eden book. What a wild ride. I loved the characters, Anthony and Lauren. Anthony is a big, bad marshall, alpha male. Lauren is smart and very likeable. She didn't make any stupid moves. Sometimes in romance novels the heroine does dangerous, stupid stuff and I always have to question her actions.The action is non-stop. Great balance between the suspense and romance. And again, many romantic suspense books are too heavy on the romance with not enough suspense.I just ordered another Cynthia Eden book.

Wouldn't be a good book to start reading late at night unless you don't have to get up for work the next day. Hard to impossible to put down! WOW! Love those kind of books...Several have posted what the story is about so I won't go into it. If you like romantic suspense books then you will love this book. A really good mix of both here. It starts off holding your attention and keeps you wondering...I changed my killer 3 times LOL.

I was interested throughout the whole book. I was wanting to help catch the butcher and got angry when he was able to elude the authorities. I would tell everyone it was well worth the read.
