Hayward SPX0714BA Key Cover and Handle Assembly

I was very hesitant to try to replace this part as this was my first year owning a pool. I found a YouTube video that explained the process perfectly and this piece fit perfectly. Just ensure that you have an O-ring that’s in good shape and pop that on. Then just screw in place. Super easy!

If this part of your pool filter breaks, and leaks, or sends the water to the wrong place, you need one, and it has to be this exact part, and it has to be Hayward. You could try rebuilding it by replacing the O-rings, or the spider gasket or the spring, or just get this part, making your life easier and bringing your filter back to almost brand new. Glad I finally made the right choice, albeit after some unfortunate trial and error. Mine arrived with some slight damage owing to shipping or warehousing but that's not Hayward's fault, it's the vendor's.

The valve works perfectly. Just remember, it does not come with the o ring.

So easy to install. But you definitely need the glue and the ring. I just took three old ring from the old top. And you have to wait 24 hrs. Everything work perfectly fine after that because the first time I didn't use glue nor did I have a ring and yes water squirted out the top.
