Poor design. Confusing instructions, and I'm a Class A geek. You'll never know if it's on or off. How about a simple guide on the inside unit to interpret the beeps and flashes? That would help. Also a brighter LED would help. I could go on and on. Oh yes, you need to send the unit back to replace the battery!!? Pass on this one. Overpriced junk. They factor in guilt. Nice going guys. You'll spend so much time trying to figure this thing out that your entire family and dog will be left struggling to get out of the pool! Forget those syrupy reviews. They seem a bit suspect to me, especially after trying to get this POS to work. If I lived closer to the ocean that's where this thing would end up! Teach your kids to swim

The past few weeks have been great! We had such peace of mind knowing we had this as a 2nd layer of protection. It worked great, passed every test with flying colors and we loved that it would re-set itself after we swam.But then, sadly, the reviews proved true: Now we're getting random false alarms throughout the day and night when the pool is perfectly still (see photo) not a ripple, not a breeze. Which thank God, brought to my attention that it was malfunctioning in other ways too. Aside from the false alarms, it wasn't protecting our pool when we thought it was. I tried turning it off and on, changing the sensitivity, checked the batteries, nothing has worked. It goes from being "ON" to "STANDBY" automatically offering us ZERO protection without us knowing. When it did manage to stay "ON" it failed every test run. We would have to be on top of it splashing for the alarm to sound. SO SCARY and DISAPPOINTING.LIFE BUOY - If your going to make a product to help prevent drowning, PLEASE make a product that is reliable and that WORKS!!! There are lives at stake here. If GOD FORBID, a child or pet drowns with one of these in the pool, where the family thought it was working and trusted this....?????????? Isn't there a product out there that actually works? It's hard to comprehend why with today's technology and resources, no one can get this right. The app is a whole other story. Crap. You have to be standing next to the unit for it to work.Lifebuoy Pool Alarm System - Great concept, bad execution. NOT RELIABLE. SO disappointing.

Guess they read my previous review about how my pool unit died after less than a month. I got a new pool unit in the mail and $100 credit for the inconvenience. Thank you Lifebouy and Amazon. I'm hoping this one doesn't have a problem:)

I purchased this because it was advertised as being controllable via smart phone. This is a Bluetooth item not a wifi item and will not read my phone 30' away in the front bedroom. To bad it will not work with my wifi security cameras. The other item is that the pool unit is a closed unit and there is no way to change the battery. I had read that it was interchangeable but it states to return the unit to have the battery replaced. Not even the option of charging it up. This limits the life of a expensive unit, or makes it unavailable when sent in to replace a battery.

Updating my review as the alarm now goes off multiple times a day when there has been no movement in the pool at all. I tried updating the sensitivity but that didn’t help. Unfortunately it seems like it was a waste of $300.—————The instruction manual is unnecessarily long just watch the video in the app! This alarm works well so far but I have no idea if it’s worth the price as I’ve never used a less expensive pool alarm

It's expensive but no price tag on my kid's safety. We installed last week and it already started going off with a bad rain storm. My husband was annoyed. I said great, I am glad it is so sensitive. We did turn it off during the storm which is easy enough to do. I hope I never have to see if it works with a child.

Great customer service and great product! Our toddler nearly drowned in our pool so we got this to prevent any further issues. It works great!

The deciding factor to purchase the Lifebuoy pool security alarm was it didn't require you to drill into your pool. Once I received it I knew I made the right decision. The Lifebuoy is amazing, only surpassed by Lifebuoy's Customer Service. They are immediately available to guide you with the setup and answer any questions you may have.The alarm is very loud and the app keeps you informed of any activity. You can even take the Lifebuoy with you on vacation. My recommendation is …… JUST GET IT!!!!

DONT BUY THiS ALARM!!!! We bought this alarm since we have three girls six and under wanted to be safe. Alarm broke after a month no incident just stopped working!!! I contacted the company for a replacement they said they would replace it which Is all I wanted since it was 300$ Then they never answered my emails and have not sent a replacement!!! Worked great while working but for 300$ a month working is unacceptable!!!

Purchased the unit through Amazon and have had it in the pool for two weeks. The two units will no longer communicate rendering the unit useless. Window for returning to Amazon closed yesterday! I’ve now contacted LifeBuoy via a contact sheet on their website as they don’t have a customer service telephone number. Hopefully they can solve this. Will keep you posted!

For the amount of money this alarm costs, it is not consistent. we have had ours for ~30 days and it no longer works. We are unable to return it on amazon so there is 400$ gone. There is a 10 sec delay from the time a splash takes place until the monitor detects it which is quite long.

Alarm went off for a day and i had to open the pull unit, remove the battery and dry it out. Now it is working and also they sent me new unit in case electronics got damaged. In general i am really happy with this product :)

Quick and easy initial set up.App doesn’t seem to want to connect well in our country home location. My initial test seems to work great though!Not cheap but will provide additional protection.
