Review: This is the first book in an interconnected series of stand-alone novels. I’ve never read anything by this author before and to say I was awestruck is an understatement. This story was such a hauntingly beautiful tale full of forbidden love, magical curses, harsh betrayal and deep secrets. The pacing was perfect and I completely adored everything about Weeping Hollow as it was so magical and unique. The poetic storytelling constantly left me floored while the captivating plot was very spellbinding and made for a suspenseful read. The characters were all incredible. Fallon was such a unique heroine and watching her grow and heal throughout the story made my heart warm. Julian on the other hand made my heart stop on multiple occasions! He was a complex and layered character which I will cherish forever. The other characters equally hold a place in my heart. The romance was top tier! Their star crossed lovers connection was overpowering and I loved every moment they shared together. The ending was as expected: a magical ending for a magical read. Overall, if you like a suspense mixed with magic and fantasy with your romance then I cannot recommend this novel enough! It is truly amazing and I am so happy to have discovered not only a new favourite novel but also a new favourite author! Review: I think this might actually be one of the best novels I have ever read. Beautiful, hauntingly heartbreaking in places, vivid and poetic. There’s romance, beautifully written spicy scenes, mental imagery second to none, the creepy tones in this book is so good. And the inserts of “history” throughout the book is impeccable placed and just as heartbreaking. Fallon and Julian are definitely my new favourite book couple. If I could bottle the feelings this book made me feel, I’d bathe in it everyday. So 🤬 good! I immediately bought the second book. Highly recommend!

“Don’t listen to them, Fallon. They’re all liars, but we’re not.” HOLLOW HEATHENS, by Nicole Fiorina🖤 @authornicolefiorina rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) obsessed! Wow guys, Nicole Fiorina did it again, and she even exceeded herself! This book is utter perfection for autumn and spooky season, featuring a small odd town, cursed boys, witchcraft and covens, dark vibes and more. As much as I love Mia and Ollie, I think this has to be my favourite NF book so far. It has everything I could ever want in a book, and with her writing? The result will let you speechless. So, here’s a small summary of all the things I loved in this book. The tropes/subgenres: this book is a combination of all the things I like in fantasy and romance books. Forbidden love? check. Magic and curses? check. Dark vibes? check. A worth dying love? check. check check! I love how the story made me feel at all times, like I was there in Hollow Heathens with Fallon and the other characters, witnessing everything with my own eyes. The atmosphere was just everything. The characters: of course, I couldn’t expect any less than beautifully, raw, imperfect and emotional characters from Nicole, and that’s exactly what we got. I really loved Fallon since the beginning: her story, her personality… Julian is another male character that has to be instantly written in my book boyfriends’ list (along with all the other Hollow Heathens characters). Although I have to say another Heathen stole my heart before Julian, I loved seeing the two main characters’ interactions, their development, and their blossoming love and devotion for each other. The writing: Well, this couldn’t miss in a Nicole Fiorina book review, could it? The number of quotes and whole paragraphs I’ve highlighted/underlined in this book… I can’t even count them. As always, Nicole’s writing made my heart and chest experience all types of feelings and emotional roller coasters. Her writing is one of those that have that something that just immerses you deep into the story, and it wasn’t any different with this book. I can’t stop thinking about Julian and Fallon and the rest of the Heathens. I CAN’T wait for their books and see what will happen next, since this time the author didn’t leave us with any cliffhanger to deal with. Once again, a complete success and SUCH a great reading experience🤍

She was everything I wasn’t, yet looked at me—to me—as if we were stitched by the same string.” I read this book in 5 days. That might not sound impressive, but that is fast AF for me. Buckle in, I have a lot of thoughts about what might be a new comfort read of mine…if a paranormal romance with curses and witchcraft can be a “comfort read.” Anyways… Fallon Morgan has been an outcast her whole life with her classmates and community whispering she’s a witch. When she receives a letter from her grandpa urging her to return to Weeping Hallow—a town only people who know of it can find—to care for him in his final years, Fallon enters this town she hasn’t stepped foot in since the day she was born. Upon arrival, she learns magic is real, the bedtime stories her nanny told her are true, and she feels a magnetic pull to one of the town’s cursed heathens. As one of the cursed heathens, Julian Blackwell has always felt like a monster. As part of the curse, he was born into a life of hiding his face behind a mask. Anyone—including himself—who sees his full face, encounters their greatest fear and dies. His only use is being host of magic for his coven and providing power when they need it. Then he lays eyes on Fallon Morgan and his cold heart feels a beat he’s never known…or has it always been there waiting for Fallon’s arrival? Here’s what I loved: - the tortured soul/hopeless romantic MMC - The extensive world building - The spooky atmosphere - The intricate plot that absolutely sucked me into the world of Weeping Hollow - And, of course, the spooky spice 🌶️ This book was the perfect gothic romance/dark, paranormal romance. It was captivating, immersive, spicy 🥵, and just all around a fantastic read. One thing I do wish we got to see/know more about was how the Heathen’s/Coven’s magic worked. We got snippets of it but not until close to the end. I hope this is explored more in later books Speaking of later books, Bone Island has been added to my wishlist. Nicole, you’ve just earned a new reader who is now suffering a serious book hangover.
