Sturdy. I find pushing the latch down a little hard but I have joint issues in my hands so that might be me. The bumpers also leave scuff marks on your walls. These are good quality gates though. They're not flimsy at all. They're very thick and will hold up to a determined toddler.

Happy with my purchase.
I needed to paint my cement balcony and that uses oil paint. Being that it is summer I wanted to leave my balcony door open but not allow my two dogs out there while the paint was drying. That was a whole weekend job. The gate was easy to install, fit perfectly and did the trick. Looks nice too.
