Good Product but for specific tasks
Just like other reviews on here I will say that this is a great product for the price. Make sure you know you need 20x magnification because you have to be close to the object to view it and you only see a small portion of the object you are trying to view. It also did not come with a leather case but had a small card stock box you can use. Also beware of 30x loupes because I have seen many reviews for them that said they were really not 30x but more like 10x. If you need a 30x louple SPI makes a nice one that is a nice mm size lens and is true 30x with a very clear image. Don't expect to buy a cheap 30x and it actually work well. You get what you pay for.Belomo has great image quality and is well built so I would recommend this if you know you need high quality 20x magnification and have a tight budget. If you have the extra 20 or so bucks I would recommend the SPI 20x loupe due to bigger mm lens and leather case with the same otpic quality.

Takes getting used to, but it's powerful.
I bought this for my Sustainable Bio-materials classes, which require a hand lens of at least 16x magnification. At first I was worried that I had made a mistake since it was hard to focus the lens and I couldn't see what I was looking at, but once I got the hang of it (turns out I was looking through the wrong side) I absolutely love how much power it offers. I can easily see details in wood that a number of my classmates have trouble with, and even my professor was impressed with this lens. The price is a bit high, but I assure you that it is a VERY high quality product you are buying here.

difficult to use
This loupe is made of quality material but the design makes it difficult for practical use. The problem is the lense is too set into the body so it doesnt allow enough light to see anything. I returned this and got the bausch and lomb 20x since that one, although has a much smaller body, is designed to allow enough light to see the subject clearly.

Nice, but too powerful for what I need.
I'm happy with the products from BelOMO that I've bought.I have both the 10x and the 20x loupes. For my purposes, the 10x is much more useful. I buy and sell old fountain pens every now and then, so I'm always looking for small (and large) flaws and identifying marks in them. The depth of field is so much narrower, and the plane of focus so much closer, in the 20X, by the time I get the item in focus, it's out of the light. Even so, it's cool to have that much magnifying power in a small package. Both the 10 and the 20x are optically very well made. If you want a relatively cheap loupe that works well, go with a BelOMO.I wish they offered the 20X with a lanyard. I had to craft my own.

Wonderful for what I need
I bought this for examining the surface-smoothness of sculptures. For that it works well. Very high magnification; it makes the fabric of my sleeve look like an area rug! On the downside, the piece being examined must be held less than 1/4 inch away from the lens, and you have ~1/16 or less leeway between in-focus and out of focus. That means it is strictly for examining things. It would be unsuitable to magnify things while you're working on them. But that's not why I bought it, so it isn't a problem.

Great Magnification but Extremely Small Depth of Field and Requires Intense Lighting
I purchased this loupe to inspect the cutting edges on my knives during sharpening.Pros:- Good glass. Abberations are minimal, image is clean, colors are reasonable.- Excellent magnification. I can easily see the honing scratches left by a 1000 grit sharpening stone. In the right light, I can see the actual cutting edge of the knife- Has some heft. Doesn't feel light or cheap in the hand.- Mine came with a complimentary neck strap from Magnifyingaids.com, apparently because of the retailer--Magnifying Aids--I purchased through.Cons:- Depth of field is extremely small...about 2 millimeters. Even on a shallow knife edge bevel, the top and bottom of the bevel are not in focus at the same time.- Focusing distance is very small. The loupe needs to be within about 1/4" to 1/8" of the subject for correct focus. This has the disadvantage of blocking nearly all light to the subject (because the loupe and my big nugget are blocking the light). Note: I use a loupe by placing it as close to my eye as possible and then bringing the subject to the loupe. Viewing subjects requires a very strong light source positioned in such a way that light will get past one's head and the loupe.- Details and instructions insert does not have an English language section.Final thoughts. If you're purchasing a loupe for the first time, buy a 10x loupe. If it doesn't fit your magnification needs, then think about getting a 20x loupe. I'll keep this one but will continue to look for a 20x loupe that is either self-illuminating or has a greater depth of field and focusing distance.

Amazing quality optics
Extraordinarily satisfied with this. The quality is top rate and I dare say this is a reasonable price compared to some alternatives with inferior construction and/or optics. The only watch out: at 20x resolution the field of view is small and your lighting source is of the utmost importance. This is inherent at this magnification and not a fault of the loupe itself.

It is missing a lens so the image is reversed, wrong. Does not work. Unless it is fixed, do not BUY!!!
