I bought these because my son's doctor recommended them. My son hasn't gained much weight, after drinking 2 a day for 2 weeks his weight went up exponentially.!

Pediasure is a really great protein for picky eater kids. The only thing is that I asked for chocolate with fiber and I did not received that. I received regular chocolate without fiber.

Anyone that has a child with any type of food aversion or issues with eating knows how frustrating and scary it can be. The feeding tube option is always looming over you, and you feel like you are constantly trying to force feed your child. It really is a tremendous amount of stress. My youngest has had to go on a feeding tube before, he just refused to eat. I remember telling and telling his doctor every month when he was under a year old that he wasn’t eating anything and refused to even try any food at all. And every month it was, “give it another month and we will see how he is progressing”, month after month. Until he was in the 2% of weight for his age at just under a year old and would still not eat any thing but breast milk… finally the doctor was as alarmed as I had been for months! That was last year and after having to be on a feeding tube for quite a while, we are slowly getting him back on track. pediaSure has been a godsend for us. He won’t only drink it, but he loves it and asks for it all the time! Sure the price is high, but as any parent that has a child that needs this will tell you I don’t mind paying it! These PediaSure Grow & Gain drinks are PERFECT for parents with picky eaters on their hands. Some kids simply don't like many foods and their nutrition is severely lacking because of it. While these drinks do contain 12 grams of sugar per bottle, they also contain A LOT of other nutrients. Some parents might frown on something like this being given as a meal replacement but if your child is super picky and won't eat much of anything, these are a godsend!!! The consistency is like a thick chocolate milk, very easy to drink and not at all gritty. The flavor is VERY kid friendly. It's rich, sweet (without being sickening sweet), and super chocolatey. There isn't any medicinal or metallic aftertastes. It really does taste like a sweet, yummy chocolate milk. These are perfect for seniors, too, because they are easy to drink and contain a lot of nutrition. In my opinion, they are similar to Ensure for adults but taste A LOT better!!! I love that you can buy a whole 24-bottle case and not have to worry about battling all the in store out of stocks. Super convenient!

Since we have grandma living with us, we have a bit more control over what she eats and drinks, even when she doesn't have an appetite. The PediaSure is actually perfect for kids AND elderly because it tastes good and helps her with the nutrients she needs. I like the Grow & Gain because she won't lose weight. So far, she has been able to put on a pound a week just drinking a shake for lunches. She does eat breakfast and dinner, but this helps her maintain her weight or gain when she doesn't eat lunch. They are a nice thick chocolate shake that tastes like that of chocolate milk. It doesn't taste too sweet and it doesn't taste gross either. It does have a lot of sugar, but at this point I am just glad grandma is drinking something with vitamins and minerals. Kids and elderly are not terribly different. For 8oz, each bottle is about $2. That is very comparable to the name brand bottles. I make our lunches and she sits down with us and drinks while we eat. I feel good giving her these and as said, $50 for 24 bottles is a pretty good deal since they taste good.
