Russian Tales: Traditional Stories of Quests and Enchantments

This is a beautiful book! The tales are often a little dark (most good folk tales are in my opinion) but great reads. Obviously this is aimed at younger audiences, so there's a lot of repetition and similarities between characters, but if you are interested in these kinds of stories this won't matter at all and is part of the draw. Each story has a great illustration at the start of each title page, the overall presentation is lovely, I look forward to many rereads!

Excellent book of tales I would highly recommend

I love this book series. It is inspiring.

Received this from Amazon as a gift, looks beautiful and they are good folk tales. However there is only one colour illustration for each story and too many pages of only text. The selling point of the book is the Dinara Mirtalipova illustrations so this is a bit disappointing and would not really please a child either who would have a lot of pages to read through before getting a picture. Otherwise good stories and the illustrations that are there are lovely.

Beautiful Book!

Nicely translated and beautifully illustrated book of fairytales, good introduction to traditional Russian folklore. It might be a bit scary for younger children, who were not brought up with such characters as Baba Yaga, but older children should enjoy it.
