great switch even at this price!
my wife was very irritated that I spent so much on a light switch (over $50)...but after a few weeks she absolutely loves it.I needed a single gang switch that would control 2 lights as I did not have the space in the wall for a double gang box.the trick was we wanted both light to be on a dimmer and we wanted something that looked nice and wouldn't stick out funny.this switch fit the bill and then some!!!!it looks great with our newly redesigned kitchen and even looks good inside the designer box cover that we bought to use throughout the kitchen. and it does not stand out from the other switches and plugs in the kitchen even though it is the only one of its kind (the other switches are actual flat designer switches I found and bought at my local "big box" hardware store).then comes all the nice things this switch does beyond what we bought it for....it has a memory of what level the light was last turned on to. so you do not have to turn the light on just to attack the dim down toggle. great because the "other" light on the switch is a decorative set of lights behind a personalized stain glass. so when we turn it on for parties and such we typically turn it on very dim to best suit the look of the stain glass (too bright and the 2 light bulbs shine through in 2 bright spots and look kind of funny).but the next feature is even better... from the off setting if you double tap the pad the switch goes to full on. great because that same stain glass light is right above our kitchen pantry and a second use was to shed light into this very dark pantry. and the best part is after you are done with the full on setting just simply tap once to turn it off, and the switch still remembers where the light was "programmed" to come on to. so another simple single tap would turn the light back on to the dimmed decorative light level!!!the main light on the switch controls the main over head central light of the kitchen. most of the time we turn it on we use the full on position but at night after the kids go to bed we like to leave it on a dimmed setting as a reminder if something in the kitchen still needs to be done (such as a pot with something stuck to it from dinner that really needs to be cleaned before bed).if I were to have just simply torn up the wall and tried to find a way to make a double gang box fit and then bought 2 nice dimmer switches to put in (which would have looked really funny because I would have had to either greatly raise or loser the box as to find room above or below the box from the dining room coming in from the backside) and also spent the little money on the new double gang box, not to mention all the time to accomplish all of this... I would have ended up spending about the same $50 amount and would have had 3 times the work to end up with something that would have not even looked, nor probably operated, even half as well as this switch.Great Decision and a Great Buy!!!

Wish it would work on LEDs without a 2.5kohm load resistor
Works well but, Wish it would work on LEDs without a 2.5kohm without the resistor LEDs flicker or don't turn off.

Does it work with LED or not??
Like everyone else, this is the only double dimmer switch I could find like it. I didn’t read the instructions well when I ordered it to see it doesn’t work with LED bulbs. When my handyman installed it we couldn’t figure out why the lights would dim, but not turn completely off until I came back and read the description. Silly me. Well surprising on one of the dimmers “the dining room” the light finally turned off and it’s an LED light, on the second switch, we couldn’t get that one to work with an LED so I had to swap the bulb out for a halogen. The moral here… if you have an LED bulb, it may work or it may not work. In my case it works, but half with LED and half not.

Good switches, but read the directions.
You have to use the correct bulbs with these switches or you will have malfunctions. The smart functions are a bit tricky.

Will not operate if load is under 40W (this is noted in the manufacturer's instructions)
I'm torn on how to rate this, as it says quite plainly on the description not to use it with LED's, which is what I purchased it for. But it's the only double dimmer I could find with this functionality, and the single switch dimmers from the same manufacturer have been working just fine for my other LED projects. I'll give it four stars. I'm irritated that it's the only thing available with the functionality I wanted, and yet it doesn't work for my purposes. But to be fair, it also says that right up front in the instructions. Since it already has four stars, my review shouldn't hurt or help it, but might be informative. Here's the issue that's not obvious from the information listed on the Amazon description, it's in the manual though, here's a quote:"Do not use where total lamp wattage is less than 40 W / VA or greater than wattage indicated on unit label"I had under-cabinet lighting I wanted to power with this thing (yes, LED) and the total wattage was less than 40 W. The result, in case you are curious) is that the switch wouldn't activate. It needs a higher wattage to operate properly. That's it. That's my review. Seeing as I couldn't get it to work at all with my low wattage, I don't really have any other feedback. Although I can say that other products by this manufacturer have generally worked pretty well for me.

Worked great for me
I have them hooked to dimmable LEDs with no issues. I did have to reprogram them to have a little smaller window because of the LED efficiency but would 100% buy again

As stated, not for LEDs
Gave it a shot. Does not work for LEDs. It’s also bulky and barely fit in our 3 gang. Will have to change it out as the flicker of the lights is significant.

Great dimmer with cool features
I installed this dimmer to control a set of recessed lights over my fireplace and also over my couch. The switch was ease to wire up and works great! The coolest feature about this dimmer is that when the lights are on and you press in one (or both) switch(es), the lights are set to turn off on a timer. The longer you depress the switch the longer the timer is set (up to 60 seconds). Its a really cool feature that I use when I am leaving the house in the morning for work. The dimmer also has a small rectangular button on the very bottom. When you pull it out, it kills the power to the switch and fixtures that the switch controls. According to the directions that came with this item, it is used only for changing bulbs in the lights hooked to it. Not an extremely important or neccessary feature but cool none the less and not one I have seen on a switch before. When you are done changing bulbs, you simply push the button back in and the power is restored. The reason I only gave this switch 4 stars is because the lights controlled by this dimmer make a low humming noise when they are on. I am unsure if this is do to the dimmer or the ballast in the fixtures themselves. But it is such a low hum that when my tv is on I can't hear it at all.

Great double dimmer - worked fine with LEDs
I was apprehensive about buying this because it specifically says NOT FOR LEDs but it was the only decent single gang double dimmer I could find and other reports indicated it worked with LEDs. So I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. In my case I moved into a place that has a finished basement with all 10 ceiling spotlights on a single circuit and only space for a single gang with on a pillar. I decided I wanted to split this into 2 circuits of 5 lights each. The spotlights had existing dimmable 120V 9.5W BR30 style LEDs from Phillips.First off: the switch specifically says you need more than 40W load which I had on both circuits. The switch itself is the usually high quality I've come to expect from Lutron. The switches have a nice look and feel , with a positive touch and nice indicator/Locatod LEDs to show dimmer level. A quick double tap turn lights on to max brightness (or optional preset level) or single tap off. Dimming is accomplished with a small rocker switch and the dimmer function has a nice ramp up/ramp down fade (which is also adjustable).Installation was easy, just connect the hot wire and the two loads to the screw or push terminals (note your local electrical code here!). Note only a single wire nut and 2 mounting screws are included so make sure you've got correct hardware and a cover plate. No neutral/white is required for operation. There's also a ground wire to connect to ground in the box. Speaking of box, the switch is fairly deep so a shallow box won't cut it.Once everything was connected I was pleasantly surprised to see that the dimmer indeed worked perfectly with the LEDs with smooth dimming and no hum/buzz. This might not be the case with all installs and brands/styles of bulbs, but it worked in my case.

Defective and very frustrating
I ordered this dimmer from Amazon a few months ago. We had it installed and immediately noticed that the switches were "sticky"; that is, that we sometimes had to press hard or press in a specific spot for it to work. However, it generally functioned, and we kept it installed and I did not return it. It was difficult to find a dual dimmer switch and I kind of figured this was as good as it was going to get for this hard-to-find item, and that I could live with the "sticky" buttons. However, I've noticed over the past couple months that it has pretty much stopped working entirely. I have rarely encountered something as frustrating as a light switch that doesn't turn the lights on or, more frustratingly, doesn't turn the lights off on the rare occasion that it actually does turn them on in the first place. It also sometimes gets stuck in an endless cycle of nonstop dimming up and down without ever actually turning off when I hit the switch, which is incredibly creepy and actually pretty stressful. Apparently I cannot initiate a return for this product on Amazon because it has been more than 30 days, but surely this light switch is defective and is supposed to have a lifespan longer than a few months?

This will not work with LED
As indicated in the instructions, it will not work if the load is less than 40 Watts. So you need to have at least 1 incandescent or halogen buld in the circuit.

Works very well with min 40W load
I took my chances with this product despite some of the poor reviews. Main thing to know which the instructions are upfront with is that you need a minimum 40W load for this dual dimmer to work. If you're working with your standard 14/2 wiring and using incandescent bulbs, you'll have no issues. LED's could work if your load is at least 40W. Also to keep in mind is the max load, especially if you have to remove the metal tabs on 1 side (or both sides). The more tabs you remove, the lesser the max load.
