It's not the 'Midge', it's the 'Midges'.
Free advice below -These headsets are a must-have addition to any rucksack during our brief summer months. Scottish Midges loom like a cloud over any idea of a pleasant camping holiday or wander in our countryside. They have been known to reduce grown men and women to tears. I speak from experience, I have been that man.Lastly, for anyone reading the other reviews below I'd like to finish with this last cultural Scottish fact. Scots NEVER refer to the creatures as 'The Midge' or that we have a 'Midge problem'. The 'Midge' is singular and falsely implies that you'll meet just one. They are known to Scots as 'The Midges' – plural - or more commonly voiced ‘Those F@$&!*g Midges'.You're Welcome ;-)

Thank goodness for these nets!
When I purchased two of these for an upcoming walk in Scotland I honestly thought my husband and I would be the only ones looking rediculous as we trecked through the Highlands. We have been to Scotland many times and never really had a problem with midges before, but I thought best to be prepared and buy a couple as we had heard horror stories of people being eaten alive. And am I glad I did.I have never experienced anything like it. There were so many midges one morning I could barely breath, they were in my eyes, up my nose, everywhere.Thank goodness for these wonderful nets! They kept out even the smallest of midges, and as it turns out if I hadn't brought them we would have been the only idiots looking rediculous WITHOUT them.

Tried lots of those. This is definitely the best one.
In fact it is the finest mesh I found. It keeps away all of those drinking blood little bastards. Can enjoy fishing now. Recommend to anyone.

Works, but black ones are easier to see through
This works well, keeps the midges at bay, but the green colour makes it harder to see through than the black alternatives, I found I had to remove sunglasses sometimes to see clearly as the brightness of the midge net reduces the contrast when you look through it.

Wouldn't buy again
Is okay, but the khaki colour of the mesh doesn't help vision in bright light. Black would have been better. It's something I'd wear only when really necessary rather than routinely. Not very generous in fabric, even with a wide brimmed hat the material was clinging to my skin, I don't know if it would prevent a mosquito bite.

Was camping / kayaking in the highlands and the only part of me that wasn't ravaged by midges was my face!!! Everything else took a proper hammering. You need this product if you're spending time in the Scottish outdoors. It's really very effective.

A must-have for a trip to the highland in midges season
I don't know what I would have done without this net. This is the only one that keeps midges away at the expense of poorer visibility (i.e. you can only use it when static not when walking in the highlands). We had a sea to summit net for walking - it had better visibility but doesn't keep the midges at bay as well as this net. So there's your trade-off. You seriously need one of these in the summer in the highlands or otherwise don't go to the highlands at all in summer, which is what we are planning to do after this horrendous midges August experience. But glad we had this net, it saved our sanity.

Does what it’s designed to do and really well
Got to be the best midge net I’ve ever used. Love this to bits, it packs up really small and works a treat. As a cycle coach I wanted something I could wear over a bike helmet and still ride, this does just that.
