It has come a long way
I owned my first Yonex badminton racket in 1992--a Carbonex 8. This Astrox Lite model has a more squared head that the perfectly oblong head of the Carbonex. In some ways, it helps the head slice through the air much smoother and grants great speed and power on the down stroke, especially during a smash. I live the coloration and how sturdy it felt in my hand. It is a gift for my son who has picked up badminton this summer while visiting his cousins. It worked well--judging for the price, this must be an entry-level model. Regardless, it works well for a new hobbyist and will stay as a family heirloom, hopefully, for a long time.

My 2nd purchase from this seller
The racket is light in weight. And I like its string strength and its durability. I purchased one earlier this year. I played a couple of times a week and it had lasted more than 7 months, with the original string, until i clashed it with another player's racket. so i bought it again!

Buy elsewhere! Bought one, it snapped in half; bought a second one, the strings broke right away
Purchased the first one in February, it snapped in half after a couple months use. Outside the return window, so couldn't get a refund. Purchased a second one, the strings broke within a day. Luckily I'm able to return the second one.

warehouse ruined my bag…?
One of my racquet’s cover bags was written on with sharpie and has various smudges and stains on it. I’m really displeased by this.I’d return it for a new one but I don’t have time because my badminton season is approaching fast.Racquet feels fine, strings are strung tight and the neck is stiff. If you need a budget racquet this looks like it’ll work but my experience is still blemished by the permanent stain on the cover I bought. If you don’t care about a possibly (very dirty) cover bag and want a decent racquet, go for it. I’d rate it 4, maaaybe 5 stars if the bag wasn’t ruined.
