Great inspiration & information
I’ve collected small spun cotton crafts for several years, my grandmother had many antique German spun cotton ornaments & I continue to kick myself for letting them be sold off in her estate sale many years ago. I add a couple to my holiday collection each year & lovingly think of her each time I do. I’ve searched low & high for exactly how to make them but information has been spotty at best & often outright gatekept. THANK YOU for sharing this with all of us - not only the basic, simple, straightforward facts but up to the intricate techniques needed to create highly detailed, beautiful pieces. My mom & I are planning a holiday crafting session soon to try to tackle mushrooms (starting small!) and I now feel confident we have all the information we need to successfully get started.

There are cotton batting crafts as well. So much crafty goodness and nostalgia! From the pine cone elves to the spun cotton deer I love it!

Victorian Spun Cotton Book
Books about creating spun cotton ornaments are rare. This book is illustrated detailed with step-by-step instructions and specific recipes for glue. I appreciate this artist author so much. She included sources of materials and a history of this Victorian Chritmas art form.

A Good Start on Learning the Spun Cotton Craft
This is a valuable book for those who would like to create spun cotton crafts reminiscent of vintage ornaments. I had already found tutorials online so I just wanted instructions in an easily accessed book. Pictures and explanations are easy to follow and it requires simple materials. I will say that the projects are repetitive. If you make a round snowball then an orange is only a slight modification in color and addition of leaves. The same is true of the animals made on wire armatures. Still, it's a starting point for the beginner.
