These work by encircling the cable -- where the intended cable is between 3-5mm in diameter.Laptop power supplies or ethernet cables which are sufficently heavy that they pull themselves off the table, are 6-7mm in diameter -- which, it is too tight of a fit, to allow the cables to slide within the retainer.As for the adhesive -- others have reported weak adhesive -- mine seemed strong.Because the issue of the strong adhesive and tight cables, I affixed one of the units to a CDROM, which has enough mass so that it won't be pulled off my desk, but which is light enough that it can be easily dragged around my desk, as I move my laptop back and forth on my desk. This way, no worries. See picture.I'm giving it a 4, because it does what it says, and the price is right.I'd give it a 5, if there was a mixture of sizes (eg, some for 5mm cables, and and some for 7mm diameter cables).

These are awesome, you get so many for a couple bucks and can put them anywhere.After having them I've found more uses for them than I initially had. They're a little had to use on AV equipment since those usually have thicker cables but that's obviously not the intent of the product. But for the most part they helped manage not only my desk setup but also some of the crazy mess around my tv/gaming consoles. Not to mention you can use them for other things besides cables if you get creative.Also work great underneath your desk! I have one of the tiny ones underneath the front edge of my desk for my headphone cable. No more getting caught on all the crap on my desk!

Got these to hold onto cables at my workstation in the office, so that my HDMI cable, etc. wouldn't fall behind the desk every time I unplug my laptop. They work perfectly for my needs, include a nice variety of sizes for a great price, and arrived in simple non-wasteful packaging. Impossible to cleanly un-stick once you've stuck it! Maybe that's a good thing though; you don't have to worry about them coming loose.

You can secure these in place with double sided tape so the weight of the cables don't pull it off the desk but I like being able to arrange my desk as needed so this option wasn't ideal for me, but you can also use that double sided tape to secure this holder to a heavier item to weight it down. Problem solved. Normally any after modification needed by me on a product gets 4 stars at best, but The price and quantity/color selection nets this product 5 stars from me. It's just a great deal and it does what it advertises.

Not ideal for thin cords. I have my Kindle, Lightning, Apple Watch and other misc cables on my desk. I needed something to corral the wires so I could keep my desk in some semblance of cleanliness. Unfortunately, these wires are fairly thin and don't stay within the confines of their channel very well. I'm going to try to put some paper and tape around the cord to see if it that'll keep it in place better.Update a few hours later.... Works better with paper taped around the cord.

This product is a perfect example of a simple concept being executed correctly. Not only are there more than enough slots to fit most peoples cables, but if you are like me and have more, each slot holds at least 2 cables. What happens if you don't like the first spot you stuck the cable holder? These guys included 4 extra double-sided adhesive pads, just in case.A well-made product delivered as a thoughtful, well-executed solution to manage cables causing clutter in your home.

pretty cool after you designate an area on your desk. Wished they would be just a tad tighter but do hold wires in place. Loved the fact that several were packed in the box, used in my office and a couple places around the home

Not much to say. They came in both colors, white and black to help accommodate different colored furniture, though it will never exacly match wood furniture. The soft rubber touch is nice and holds cables well without kinking them up. Also the sticky feet so far hold well. I love them. If you have a family with too many tablets charging off of 5 port USB bulk charger this is very helpful to control the mess of charging cables everywhere. Highly recommended.
