Apparently, Maryland plastics makes four sizes, the 8-oz. salad/cereal/snack bowl, the 1-qt. salad bowl, the 2-qt salad bowl, and the 6-qt. salad bowl. The original maker of these in Ohio are now sought-after vintage pieces, even though these are simple and cheap. I would definitely NOT call these optionally “disposable” as it says in the description, as they don’t crack—they are make of tupperware-like translucent plastic (not the crackable, breakable acrylic party-ware, temporary stuff). I find myself constantly defaulting to these bowl but I’m not sure why—I just love the lightness and that they are cute and easy to hold. My head runs wild imagining it made of other materials, but most would cause it to lose its lightness, and with arthritis, heaviness is a no-go for me. Although, as a side thought, if they were ever made of anything else, the pretty cabbage leaf design would be amazing as a very very thin porcelain Irish Belleek piece. Irish Belleek pieces are extremely thin by tradition. This feels nothing like porcelain, but the lightness, yet quality durability, gives me the same happiness in my hand. These are from Maryland Plastics in Federalsburg, MD. I am really hoping they with sell ALL FOUR sizes on Amazon, because I am missing the 1-qt size and the 6-qt. size, of which I would buy several of each!

This is THE salad bowl for a a single meal for myself. Or serve 2 out of this bowl. Easy to hold to eat out of, or just put on the table. Unbreakable. And good as a popcorn bowl too!

Not clear at all. It’s frosted which makes it look even more cheap and tacky. Pictures also make it look like the better quality plastic ones you find in Target, Walmart etc.

I eat HUGE salads. More than 1 bag of store bought lettuce/spinach with all the fixins. I used my serving bowls before, which looked ridiculous, AND, those bowls are HEAVY! These bowls are PERFECT for my huge salads, are super lightweight, and so inexpensive. Plus, the cabbage design is also adorable and matches the salad theme. I'll probably buy a few more because I try to eat one super size salad a day.
