Works perfectly!
I bought this to cook dog food in. I was looking for a sturdy pan with high sides. This fit the bill at a great price, especially compared to other stainless steel cookware of the same size. It heats evenly and is very sturdy...no wobbling on the stove. I cook three pounds of turkey and some chicken livers in it with space to spare. Be sure to use enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan, and clean up will be a breeze (it does take a bit of elbow grease occasionally). I am very happy with the performance of this pan.

Best pan purchase
Great size, definitely need a lid for it (my fault for not ordering it). Great quality pan, would absolutely buy this again. Ideally 3 more so I could have one on each burner on the stovetop.

Even heating.
Tramontina's 6qt deep saute pan has turned out pretty good. I bought it to make a few recipes from the NYT. I really like the deep walls limiting oil splatter. Heat distribution seems very even. I guess the core is good. I don't notice any obvious hot spots. The base wider than my stove burner, so I can't have another large stock pot on the back burner of the same side. But that's ok for a saute pan. Handles are great. Rivets are properly seated. That actually turned out to be a problem on one of my other pots (different brand).

Well made and works great
This is a great skillet: it works very well. I see a lot of reviews saying food sticks but thatโs due to improper use by others. There is also mention of a popping noise from the lid. It is a bit unnerving, but itโs not that bad and it does not affect the food being cooked in it. Itโs just air. This is a very well made skillet and so far itโs been superb and a great deal for the price point. Itโs made in Brazil and not China.

Great braiser, glass lid makes clicking and popping noises
I have happily owned Tramontina pans and flatware for over 20 years (I have actually hauled my stuff in 2 overseas moves across 3 continents because it's too good and sturdy enough to withstand the trip). The Brazilian made stainless steel is as good as it gets and my oldest stuff is as good as new, so this was a bit of a letdown experience for me. I wish I could give the pan 5 stars but the lid is problematic. As I actually liked this pan very much, let me start with the PROS. The upside: the pan is beautiful, great size for searing and braising -stovetop and oven. Some people who are not really versed in cooking, think "stainless steel" stands for "nonstick", it doesn't, it never did, it ONLY means it doesn't rust. It has, however, always been used for browning and searing. You just need to use a little oil to coat the pan, pre-heat on low and don't go above medium heat while searing/browning, give the food space between the pieces, and if you deglaze the pan at the end, there won't be anything stuck to it. It cleans beautifully and if it looks "stained" just use "BarKeepers Friend" to polish it - it will look new again. BUT I took one star for the defective lid and one star for the weak CS and dubious warranty. The glass lid starts making clicking/popping noises (video) as soon as steam builds up in it. It scared me when I first heard it because I thought it was shattering over my stew, and the noises even accelerated when removed lid from the pan. I have an old glass lid that never made any noises so it's not normal to me. So I asked here on Amazon if anyone else had this experience but only Tramontina's CS answered to contact them so they could solve it. They were of of little help, the first person I spoke with on the chat just told me to send pictures of the pan and a video of the problem, and once I did she replied: "This issue does not affect the performance of the pan. This may be caused due to the pressure inside of the pan when frying. Unfortunately, this is not a manufacturing defect, therefore it can not be covered." None of which is true, first that the lid wouldn't keep making noises after removed from pan if it were an internal pressure issue (it's not on video but I told them in the chat), second it doesn't matter since the glass is not supposed to make this noises - so that is a manufacture defect. Not to mention no reassurance that the lid would be okay. And why did she need pictures and video to tell me that, other than to stall, is beyond my comprehension. So I called and talked to a less robotic and nicer person who told me that they considered normal for the glass lid to make clicking noises, and if it shattered they would replace it (Cold comfort if it shatters on my food that may be as expensive as the pan itself- and I wouldn't really hold my breath waiting on their warranty judging by the Costumer service I encountered). Wouldn't it be safer to just exchange the lid now? Now I ask, why couldn't they just say that when I asked the question here on Amazon???? With this CS they are incentivizing people who bought through Amazon to just return their stuff, very foolish if you ask me. Since I bought it through Amazon I could have tried exchanging for a new one, but I ended keeping it, first because the pan (metal part) is so good I couldn't find anything in this quality tier for nearly the same price and there is no guarantee the new lid would be any different, second because the Amazon Price ($59) was already discounted from Tramontina's price ($84) and I felt that it was the discount for the lid. I don't recommend paying full price for this item. Every time I use that lid I feel the adrenaline of living dangerously- lol. I really wish they had a stainless steel lid for this pan.

Heavy duty!
This pan is amazing. I was sick of Teflon and pans warping. This pan is heavy duty, and worth the money!!

Great Pan for my larger Stovetop recipes.
I use this pan to make my Shrimp Linguine dish as well as sausage and peppers and other general uses. It has a flat bottom which allows for excellent heat transfer on our Ceramic cooktop. I am very pleased that there are no longer any "hot spots" like there were with lesser pans. Money well spent in my opinion!

Love this pan!
I love this pan, especially for the price. The extra handle on the side makes it much easier to lift, which is important for such a large, heavy pan. Glass lid is great for keeping an eye on things.

Although relatively heavy it is really robust and I can crank the induction up to high without the issue of the bowing of the base which is great. A really well priced pan.

Good size, versatile, good quality for the price. It won't stick if you learn how to cook with stainless, wait for the pot to be hot enough, the Leidenfrost effect, i.e. water forms ball on the bottom then add oil, it may need more oil and patience. Easy to clean, use a little baking soda and a scrubbing sponge.

Huge. Sometimes you need huge and this brings it. Heavy, substantial, what a great pan.
