Ehhh..
I’ve got over 10 physical Abbi Glines books on my shelves. She’s an auto buy author for me but lately.. her books are falling flat. This makes me so sad cause The Rosemary Beach series is one of my all time favorites!BIT OF SPOILERS and ME JUST RANTING:Lyrics of a Small Town seemed incomplete with a lot of holes. Yes there was a lot of hot sex between Henley and Saul but I never felt that connection. They never talked about their lives or got to know each other. She never even told him about her dead ex! Plus the ending was so rushed. Plus the epilogue.. why? That epilogue had very little to do with this story and it just disappointed me. I’m sad..

Small towns....
*WARNING* intended for mature audienceThe moment Henley saw Saul, I was at the edge of my seat just waiting for something to happen! She Rio told Henley the worst, I thought to myself "girl I knew that would happen!" I cried with her and wanted to do harm to Saul.I fell into the book after the first page. I resented the ringing phone because of the interruptions! This is so like a small town with all of it's lies and hidden secrets. This could be a real place and real events. I have read almost all books by this author and it's not only the characters, but the realism of the story and how the hurt of damaged can heal. You'll want to read this, but lock yourself in a room with no phone and a Do Not Disturb sign because you quickly be involved in this story!

Good plot but I had major problems with Saul. Spoiler alert.
Spoilers ahead! I loved the plot line of the h going to fulfill her late grandma's final wishes. It was like a scavenger hunt that brought new information about unanswered questions. But this is a romance and so the focus of the story in the relationship between the H and the h. Saul is a damaged bad boy but I don't think the author redeemed him at all. What bothered me most is his insane possessiveness over Henley and how he made her weak. She couldn't wear a bikini unless he was there and even then he didn't want anybody looking at her. He didn't want any male hanging around her even her friends and relatives. and his intense rage was a turnoff. As someone who had a high school bf with these exact same tendencies I can assure you that these red flags need to be taken very seriously even in fiction. It ruined the book for me.

Abbi went back to her roots y'all!
Lyrics of a small town by Abbi GlinesAnother day, another auto buy book from my favorite author! Did I buy this the second it popped up? Yes. Did I finish it the same day? Also yes 😂Y'all already know what the rating is when I read an Abbi Glines book, so expect nothing less than 5 stars around here! 😂Abbi went back to her roots for this one and I am ALL FOR IT! If you loved Rosemary Beach series by her, then I definitely recommend picking this one up! The subtle mention of Rio wearing a Slaker Demon shirt made me smile so hard! (Oh what I'd give to read the Rosemary Beach series over again for the first time 😍)I just wanna talk about Rio for a sec because I absolutely adored him!! He gave me all the Jess from Gilmore Girls vibes (no surprise since Abbi adores that show) and I loved how protective he was of Henley, even when it comes to standing up to his best friends! Now let's talk Saul, um okay. So he confuses me because I know I'm supposed to like him I just felt like he didn't really show the love and passion that I wanted him to show for Henley. I wanted that Kiro watching Indiana Jones with Emmy kinda feel 😭 but the only passion I really read from him was in the bedroom (which, not complaining on that part) or anger from his messed up life (totally understandable). I just wanted more from him and would love a second book that's mostly about Henley and him after the messed up parts of their life.Henley kinda gave me Harlow vibes. ESPECIALLY with all the drama that she finds out. It was like another twist happens on every single page! You think you know everything but Abbi says "turn the page 😈" and BOOM something else happens. All because of Gran. I love that so many people connected Henley with her Gran, and that's what I loved about Henley the most, she didn't try to run away from her Gran. 5🌟 I also loved the @colleenhoover mention in the book 😍

Conflicted!!
So I had such high hopes for this book, once I heard it had Rosemary vibes I one clicked real quick. Here’s the scoop the plot was great!!! I love the idea of Henley completing this list her grandmother left for her after she passed. All the different people she met along the way, and how they fit in her life was a genius idea. If the whole book was about Gran and Henley and this small town it would have been 5 stars.Butttttt, it was a romance novel- There was zero romance. Saul, was not hero material, boyfriend material, or anything swoon worthy. He was however FWB material. Saul and Henley just didn’t do it for me. I am however hoping there’s more to come.

Abbi Glines outdid herself!!
I don't write reviews. I never know what to say in them, but I HAVE to write something for this one. I have to tell you to STOP what you're doing and go read this book!!I laughed, cried, and had chills! Everyone deserves to have a Gran like Honey. Abbi Glines weaves this story in such a beautiful way. Every chapter leaves you diving deeper, as Henley helps her grandmother with some unfinished business. I found myself holding my breath with my mouth hanging open!!I can't wait to read more from this eclectic group of friends and family. Rio has to have his own book. I hope Abbi continues their stories!!!!!! I won't give more away but just, go read this book!! If you start, you won't want to put it down!!Ughhhh. I haven't had a book hangover in such a long time. I forgot how bitter sweet this feeling is. I never wanted it to end.

100 STARS - Abbi I did fall in love with Henley and Saul and I could not go slowly!
Abbi I did fall in love with Henley and Saul and I could not go slowly, read the book without taking a breath!Bloody brilliantly written!Honey, her Gran, was a wise woman and she left a final wish list for Henley to complete for her. She returns to the small town on the shores of Alabama’s Gulf Coast where her single mother grew up and fled when she was a tiny baby. She feels alone but she’s a good girl and carries out her Gran’s list. She uncovers secrets and the beautiful Henley attracts the attention of Drake, Rio and Saul. Lots of brilliant situations, twists and turns and conversations that I won’t spoil! This is a must read, I’d give it 100 stars if I could! I cannot wait for more to come from these characters, pretty please Abbi! Well done on a beautiful story that I fell in love with.

Welcome back abbi.
So when Abbi told us if we like the Rosemary beach series we would love this. She did NOT disappoint. I feel like it’s been a while since she’s written like this. I have been in a book funk for what seems like a very long time, I’ve missed it so much, the escapism you get from reading is like nothing else, so when I picked up this book and couldn’t put it down I felt like crying tears! Thank you for giving me that back Abbi…this book was everything and more, I loved all the characters, the little twists and turns, the town, I hope this isn’t the last we see of Henley and saul. Amazing Job Abbi. Can’t wait to read more.

Would have been 5 stars but ………
The story was promising and very engaging. However there were gaps that needed filling. It seemed rushed and not really thought out properly. His family could have been explored more as there was no depth to them. Him being the son of a billionaire, this storyline is getting really old and features in so many stories now authors please come up with something else, he’s living this life that’s seems really unrealistic. In all it was an ok read but fell short of being a great read

Lyrics of a Small Town
Thoroughly enjoyed every bit from start to finish. Absolutely love small town stories and took me right back to my first ever Abbi book. As always it hooked you in and made you fall in love with each and every one of them. Hoping there will be more books in the future! Would definitely recommend reading

Mostly Good
In torn as to how I'm feeling. First, I swore I would not read a book with Vivid in it. The reality is bad enough, I don't need it in my fiction. Second, I don't feel like we were given a chance to see Saul's "good" side. Issues were verbally resolved and then the story was finished. But what did that resolution do to the characters and Saul's relationships? But, the story was well written, as to be expected. I mean, it's an Abbi Glines story. She's kinda good with words.
