Philips One by Sonicare Rechargeable Toothbrush, Shadow Black, HY1200/06

I have been using this device for the last 2 years. We travel quite a bit but I don’t like bringing my big sonic toothbrush. This thing hits the mark for travel toothbrush. My pups ate the travel holder but the toothbrush came out unaffected. Charges hold for an extremely long time.

I am on a quest to reduce waste and charging brick and cable clutter by replacing as many of my disposable battery-powered and non-USB devices with USB-rechargeable options as I can. Now COVID restrictions are falling away and travel is an option again, I'm starting to swap out items I travel with, everything from laptops to my keyring flashlight. And now my electric toothbrush.When at home I prefer to use a Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush. The Oral B does a better job of getting my teeth clean. The sad truth, however, is the Oral B travel toothbrush really sucks. Not ony is it powered by AA batteries instead of being a USB rechargeable, it doesn't work anywhere near as well as their non-travel version.The Oral-B travel brush also has some annoying travel habits: The brush cover pops off in transit and lets the brush get dirty, plus the exposed on/off buttons are easily jostled and pressed by other items inside a bag, turning the toothbrush on so I arrive at my destination with dead batteries.Enter the Sonicare Rechargeable toothbrush. The Sonicare brush will never be my go-to at home, but it's miles better than the Oral B travel brush. The Sonicare does a decent job of getting my teeth clean, has a cover that stays in place to keep the brush clean and covers the power button so it can't be pressed.The Sonicare travel brush also looks stylish and sleek in exactly same the way you never thought a toothbrush could look stylish and sleek. It's more compact than my Oral-B travel brush and much quieter, too. If you're not into USB rechargeables, Sonicare offers both USB-rechargable and AA-battery-powered versions. (I, of course, got and am reviewing the USB rechargeable version.)Pros:* Does a good job of getting teeth clean.* Slim, sleek, and lightweight.* More compact than other electric travel toothbrushes I've used.* The cover both keeps the brush clean and protects the power button from being pressed.* Under $30 on sale or with a coupon offer.* USB rechargeable or AA disposable battery options.* A charge lasts at least a week of twice-daily use.Cons:* Not as good at cleaning my teeth as the bulky non-travel Oral B toothbrush I use at home.

Works great for a travel electric brush. Those that say the vibration doesn’t work well are just gripping it too much. It doesn’t move the head. The whole thing vibrates so if you grip it too hard you will effectively reduce the amount of vibration that reaches the head of the brush.

This is nothing like an electric toothbrush. Its like a compact trip to the hygienist. At first I thought it was a joke…this little toothbrush appeared to be a vibrating travel toothbrush and I thought it was a rip off until I used it a few times. I don’t know how it does it but every use feels like I just came from a professional cleaning ! Give it a chance and you’ll see what a great little dental tool this is! I’m thinking of using it full time when I get home from traveling! And it holds a single charge all week! Thanks sonicare!!
