Got as a gift for my dad for his birthday as someone who likes making his drinks at home. Great quality and super easy to use. Great results to really elevate your drinks at home.

I did some substantial online research before deciding to purchase this particular smoke top. For many other smoke tops, I noted people were having issues making the top work or having a bad taste arising from a sealant on the wood which burned. However, the only issues noted for the Middleton were associated with the torch (I purchased my own separate torch) and folks trying to use an incorrect approach to lighting (using a candle burner or just a match, for example). I also talked to our local bartender, who makes the most amazing smoked old fashioned drinks - and they use this particular smoker brand/style. With that, I purchased this item - and from my first use it has worked great. You need to get the art of holding the torch the right distance from the smoke top, and using only a few chips at a time - but it generates a significant amount of wonderful smelling smoke in a short time, and imparts great flavor to my old fashioned. I am definitely a fan. Furthermore, when the wrong kind of chips were sent with my order, I contacted Middleton and they quickly responded and addressed the minor issue.

I already have a torch and didn’t want unnecessary additions, just a good quality smoker and chips, and that’s what this package offers. Note on the video, I made a novice mistake not pointing the torch straight down the chimney. The bag of chips is smaller than the package photo suggested. It will still last a while but it’s a pretty small bag.

Makes Very fancy old fashioned cocktails Just like restaurants and bars. Fun to use and it impressed our bourbon drinking guests. Love it

We recently visited the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, where we had a Smokey Maple Old Fashioned. The drink was amazing and when asked how they smoke the cocktail, they brought out a SmokeTop. After looking online at other products, I settled decided the SmokeTop was the best choice for me. Simple to use, easily stored, and not as messy as an electric smoker, although I can see the usefulness of one of those if you are doing more than cocktails. I tried several of the company's wood chip offerings and the cherry was best for this drink, in my opinion. The smoker came with a small packet of cherry, although I don't know if that is always the case. A range of different wood chips are available separately from the manufacturer (check Amazon). A bit pricey for what this is, but I am more confident this American made product uses the proper wood finishing and I'm willing to pay a bit more for that. A great gift for the amateur bartender.

The steakhouse I frequent uses this smoker and makes the best old fashioneds. Works great, better than expected if I’m being honest. Make sure to use a good torch…I used a cigar lighter torch and it was not strong enough so I pulled out my crème brûlée one and successful!

And maybe made America but that bag of wood chips is about .05g. And make it look so much bigger in the pictures. It'll be returned.

Easy to use, unique, and interesting method. A nice way to change up your drink. I've used it with Scotch and Manhattan's Guests found it quite interesting and enjoyed the flavor it adds. Use just a pinch of the hardwood, as recommended by SmokeTop! This came with Cherry, I'm planning on buying some other hardwood flavors. A recommended product! Thanks to all the folks at SmokeTop!

Performs as advertised, only draw back is the price and size of chips given. Much better value for a less price directly from manufacturer website but they do not currently ship to Canada.

This is a great option if you want to try smoked cocktails but don't want the bother of a big unit.

I have a dome smoker already. But wanted to try something that took up less storage space. I will keep my dome smoker. It gave a nice volume of smoke layer over the top of the drink, but I am definitely not a fan of the butane smell that is infused into the smoke, ruining a time tested old fashioned. Save your money. But a dome with a smoke gun that attaches via a hose and doesn’t rely on the torch “pushing” down through the chimney (which is why there is a butane after odor).
