Great starter paint
Great pallet and company to start with. Lovely choice of colors.

pretty good overall, but not without flaws
It was pretty good. The colors were mostly vivid, but some colors were a little duller and lighter than I expected. In the video they put for the product, the paints were really easy to open, but for me they were a little hard to. I don’t know if this is just me being bad at opening them though. (I’m not that strong TwT) For 48 paints, that’s a lot to open.As for the price, it’s like your typical paint set. It’s not too pricey, and you get what you pay for.I also really like how they packaged the thing, and I kinda just like pan watercolors more than the tube ones.Overall, this is a good product, I would definitely recommend this to someone.

Excellent starter set!
I have never done watercolors before so my experience is limited. This set met all my needs. The packaging was professional and attractive - it would make a good gift. The color palette is varied and has space for mixing to create new colors. I found that spritzing the colors before using gave me lovely pigments to work with. Beware the purple is EXCEPTIONALLY dark and pigmented! The only thing I wish I had is a shade of white.

Excellent set!
ProsVery pigmentedWide selectionSturdy caseLightfastGood TransparencyGood paint informationConsSwatch card is chaoticIndigo is mostly graySome misspellingsNow, I love these paints. Some granulate a bit, which I like. I even like the quirky misspellings and purposefully wrote them that way in my swatches. I would keep the covers of the paints to store the information in a logical order. The swatch card is impossible to follow and does not correspond to any order of the paints. These are great, if like me, mixing can be overwhelming to you. These paints are great for the price point and I like that I have the option to refill some of the colors with the tube set when needed.I highly recommend these to hobbyists like me who can’t justify a high price point but want paint that doesn’t have too many fillers.

Art Whale Watercolor Paint Set - 24 Colors in Half Pans
I haven’t used them much yet and am a fairly new beginner to watercolor but seem to be good watercolors. The colors are a good palette choice with a cool and warm primary color selection and the colors are vibrant , transparent, beautiful and some colors seem to have some granulating. They are not chalky at all. I add a little dropper of water or lightly mist to “wake” them up and they seem to flow well and are easy to use. They come in a nice well made metal tin wrapped with a pretty pink fabric, a waterbrush and a nice paper informational color swatch chart. The work I have done with them looks beautiful. I am very happy with the set and the purchase. They are a great set at a great price.

Sloppy production, unreliable color ID, groupings
Art Whale entered as a budget but pretty great set, although no one could find out much about the company. Turns out that Superior, that manufactures even smaller, cheaper sets, was behind the marketing.Yes, not a real revelation these days when any one Chinese manufacturer puts out an art line under a variety of names/companies. Moving on, though, to the most bothersome aspect of whether I'd ever buy the product again (NO--I actually was sorry I just didn't initially return the set), there was absolutely no colororganization, and even the wraps, color names, and colors themselves were inconsistent. Sloppy names that were mismatched, joined the way-off color representations. It actually took a long while to sort everything out correctly to have a functional set. That the colors were "vibrant" just didn't cut it, even as a"budget beginner set"--there's so many better choices out there.
