prongs collars prove useful with dogs with heavy necks or ruff
CHOKE collars CAN damage your puppies throat, even if properly used (and average people haven't a clue!). A prong collar helps to control dogs that heavily pull (pitbulls and labs are notorious pullers!), again when used properly. While I prefer and encourage positive training, prongs collars prove useful with dogs with heavy necks or ruff. While I am using a gentle leader, I am using it in conjunction with a prong collar for an independently-minded 130 lb. 9-month-old mastiff puppy. Again, it can be a useful training tool if used properly. Once trained to behave, a flat collar should work fine.

It only hurts them and can easily tear through their skin
DO NOT BUY THESE FOR YOUR DOG. It only hurts them and can easily tear through their skin. It doesn't feel like their mother's teeth, it's a myth to get you to by their product. It's just a constant pointed prong digging into their throat. Please, do not buy this.
