Are these made by Motosuke Nagao?

They are essentially the same style knife. The Nagao model has a samurai on the handle where the true higonokami doesn't. The boxes are even different. Go for the licensed version (blue/gold box) for the true product. If you purchase from Blue Crest you will have no problems. Hope this helps. james s.
