Performance Overshoots Price
Quick Need-To-Knows:- Real Leather and other quality materials make sure this shoe punches above its weight class.- Vibram outsole and memory gel insoles make for a noticeably comfortable footbed.- Needs 2-3 days for breaking in and fine tuning the lacing.- Not waterproof.- The tumbled leather is very soft/supple but not as durable as the leather used on other comparable work boots (Thorogood, Red Wing, Timberland).Full Review:I ordered almost a dozen pairs of shoes trying to find a pair that I could use in my job as a home inspector. I need something that looks acceptable when I'm in client's homes, but something that holds up to water, weather, scuffs from crawlspaces. I need something with grip for when I'm on a roof or in an attic. Basically, I need a franken-shoe that cobbles together the flexibility of an athletic shoe, the all-day comfort of an orthopedic shoe, the durability of a work boot, and the style of a casual/businesswear shoe. This pair of Rockrooster 6" Moc Toe boots comes really close. They really are comfortable to wear all day. It took a couple of days to break in, and I had to readjust the lacing several times to get the tension just right, but they are very good on the feet. The leather scuffed fairly easily, because it is so soft. This is because the leather is tumbled or pre-softened. I kind of wish they backed down the tumbling just a skoosh to leave a little more structure. The leather is like filet mignon when what I need is a NY Strip (IYKYK). However, after applying a little leather conditioner with beeswax, the scuffs do kind of disappear. That brings me to my next point. These are not waterproof out of the box. To improve the water resistance factor, use a leather conditioner/waterproofer with beeswax in it - definitely a worthwhile upgrade. I do wish the very shiny brass hardware on the boots looked a little less tacky/cheap, but it's covered by my pant leg most of the time anyway. I just got done wearing these all week during almost 100°F (37°C) weather and my feet did not get overheated or sweaty, even when standing on roofs that were super-hot from solar heat. I know there are a dozen or more 6" Moc Toe style boots on Amazon with similar ratings. For light duty, all day work, these were the best I could find considering performance and price point. If you're a tradesman (mason/framer/roofer/etc) these might not be durable enough for long term wear. But for light duty use or as an affordable pair of back-ups, these really are excellent. I'm torn between four stars due to the slightly oversoft leather and tacky hardware or five stars for the comfort and overall value for the money.

Excellent Boots for the price!
What can I say, they are super comfortable clean/well made looking boots (has real Goodyear welt, no cheap liner around the heel just leather, ect.) with minimal break in time. the insoles are the only thing that I really had to "break in" but that is because they are like a hd memory foam so once conforming to your feet the boots are a great fit and so far they are very supportive of my ankle which I have to have. The warranty Registration is simple and had a response within 24 hours confirming that registration was completed and it's for a year which is a great bonus for boots for this price. The only complaint I have is with the listing not the boots themselves, went by the sizing chart on the listing and took all measurements needed and the size was way too small for me (about 1 1/2 sizes too small) so this time I just went with my usual boot size and everything is good. Will try to remember to update after a few good months of work in the HVAC field.

good backup boots, no break in, probably last 1-2 years
I am comparing these to Thorogood's only because that's what I have been wearing for the last year, its only a fair comparison because that's what these boots are trying to be. I bought these on sale as a backup pair of boots for my Thorogood's; in case I have to oil Thorogood's, or if they get wet and need to dry, break a lace, etc. I can just grab the RR and throw them on and leave out the door quickly. The RR are close to the comfort of the Thorogood's with the exception of the sole, for some reason it could just be me but after wearing for longer than 6-8 hours a day multiple days, the soles of the RR just are not as comfortable as the Thorogood's. The RR make the bottom of my feet a little numb like I have been walking barefoot. RR tries to make up for the main sole by using a super thick insole. The Thorogood's feel like wearing a pillow I could work 12 hour days in Thorogood and my feet don't even feel like I had boots on. The main difference being the sole for me, if the sole of the RR was like the Thorogood's I would buy this boot primarily its a good value probably the best cheap boot I have found. I would honestly save up a little more money and get the Thorogood sometimes they are on sale on Amazon and from my personal experience worth the extra money. everything else about The RR is great.

Absolutely amazing for the price
I saw the review on these from Rose Anvil on YouTube and was really impressed so I decided to try them. These are my third pair of Rockrooster shoes. The others were lower end boots and were great for work so I already know the brand puts out a good product. These are much better quality overall than my previous Rockrooster boots. They are very comfortable and very well built. I own a pair of Thorogood boots which I try to keep nice. These feel very similar on my feet and I have no doubt they will age well. The best thing is at the price point, I am not afraid to actually wear them for work. They look and feel great. They fit perfectly too. I love the Rockrooster insoles. They provide a really nice squish under foot, but not too much. If you are looking for a nice pair of value moc toe boots, I can definitely recommend these.

If only I’d paid attention
I am fairly certain this amazingly made boot would have been the cat’s meow. …if only, I had clicked the regular size. My feet can certainly feel how well they are made. Wide is WIDE in this boot. I have a pair in a 9 wide. I can’t use them so, pay the shipping and they’re yours. Ill just suck it up and pay attention a bit closer. Oh, and I won’t tell my wife about any of this nonsense. Lol. Great looking and bottom of foot felt awesome. Very breathable 😄Fast forward to December, the sole is separating and the boots are so heavy and clunky, I just can’t use them. So, my pair turned out to be junk after just 7 months!

Not true to size
Very quick delivery. No free boot keychain or socks; instead, I get free Rockrooster stickers and extra laces. The shoes did not have any support inside to keep the shape, not even paper. As an online not-so-easily-trusting buyer, it gives a feeling that maybe it was a returned item. At any rate, it looks clean enough, no smell, so I'll take it as new, less stress for me.My interest in these arose from a review by RoseAnvil on YouTube. I bought hastily though, as I wanted, for their first usage, to use them for a trip in snowy Swiss mountains and the first thing that caught my attention was that they are supposed to have good traction. They turned out not to be waterproof though, but at any rate, I'll use beeswax and mink oil and Tarrago to seal them up, at least to get me through the trip (I'll bring my other waterproof boots as a backup). - the picture is after conditioning, darker, and deliberately will be more cognac in time. They are not true to size. I am usually 7.5 US wide in my dress or boots that are round toe (size 8 if pointed), so I ordered 8, just to be sure. Like many other reviewers, I found these boots are not really wide, and if I bought my usual 7.5, they would have been too narrow and not fit. As it is, without socks, 8 is already snug.Furthermore, due to the thickness of the insole, my foot bridge is too snug against the vamp, and I don't like the feeling. As for length, it is also snug. And all these without socks ! Since I need to wear thick socks for winter, the fix for this is to swap the thick insoles with a thinner but just as effective one, just as I did with my Clarks Bushacre 3 which also had extra thick insoles that affected sizing. Anyway. I tried some thick wool socks, still ok, the socks must be pushing the soft insole down to accommodate the size. For the moment I will apply the waxes, make the leather supple, and wear them a few hours. Maybe the insole will sink lower; otherwise, insoles will be replaced.Overall, looks good, and will be used most of the time as a casual pair of shoes rather than a work boot. They look symmetrical enough, no issues there. At around 0.7 kg each, not exactly lightweight for a casual shoe, but I'm fine with it, should give me more strength training in my legs while walking lol.** Update - after wearing it straight for 4 days, the original insoles seem to have sunk in a bit, improving the fit a lot while wearing thin dress socks. Wearing thicker socks shouldn't be a problem later on even with the original insoles. No squeaking at all. Overall, I like these boots a lot, no tired feet after walking on pavement the whole day, and now water-resistant after the treatment. The sides of the soles at the heel part easily get dirty ("blackened") after a day's use, I have no idea why, and I just wipe it off after every use. If I used these as work boots, I probably won't bother cleaning.* Update: Walked with these boots in Dubai and Europe for 15 days, lots of pavement, on the Dubai desert, on the snow in Switzerland - worked well like a charm ! Love these boots !
