Lasted 5 days
Was an absolute breeze to setup. Took 5 mins and had my phone hotspot connected, shared through this device, WiFi printer and enabled my laptop, other phone and tablet to print. Signal strength was great and it worked perfectly. Suddenly stopped working after 5 days, the laptop refused connection, went through every trouble shooting guide, nothing worked. TP Link support never responded. Unfortunately now being sent back because it's as useful as a brick.

Works for me but I lost a good head of hair
I bought it so I could connect a Sony Bravia smart TV to the internet using a wired connection. The Sony wi fi adaptor to allow a wireless connection was over £60 which is a liberty. This box sits next to the TV about 12 metres from my router to which it connects by wifi. The TV then connects to the TPlink by cable and it works that way. Its a tiny box, obviously designed for travelling and eludes to a whole range of things it can do. Here's where the unit loses a star; the instruction booklet is quite incomprenhensible. There was enough info to enable me to get it working but I think most people might struggle without expert help. Works for what I want so ts OK but sone luck and some judgement. UPDATE: After four months it broke. I contacted the supplier BESTBUYIT who told me to take it up with the manufacturer. Amazon tried but couldn't help. I believe Amazon, who usually are excellent in times like this should do better. I'll never buy anything from BESTBUYIT again.

Avoid doesn't work well with captive portals with short DHCP lease times.
After a few visits to Premier Inn hotels which have DHCP lease times of 5 minutes I discovered that after the DHCP renews you have to reconnect to the captive portal, so basically every 5 minutes your internet drops. I contacted TP link support and they said: I'm really sorry to tell you that for this kind of captive portal network, there is some problem to extend. We have received many cases. So we don't recommend to use these mini routers to extend the network for captive portal I've had it for more than 30 days so I'm going to have a hell of a time getting a refund, also it came with an EU plug which wasn't a big issue for me.

Utterly stupid setup which still haven't managed to work yet!!!!
Oh where do I start. What an awful setup for this unit. The website they tell you to in the piece of paper doesn't work. My own router recognises the box and has given it an IP address. Even specifying that on the browser does not work. There is no way to setup this little brick. This should be plug and play virtually but the truth is, its a nightmare to get on. Completely losing patience with it. btw i am a developer and know that it should be very easy but they seemed to have over looked the simply things such as getting on the damn thing! Also they sent the unit with a european plug! Don't they know we use different plugs in the UK? Would be great if I had a button here to give them an electric shock for stupidity. Sorry, I get annoyed seeing sub standard products.

Easy to set up but 89% of time it looses the internet service. Not recommended
Easy to set up and occasionally works but looses internet connection most of the time. Not Recommended

It works fine in the client mode, but I experienced problems while using it as a range extender for BT Hub 5.
It works fine in the client mode, but I experienced problems while using it as a range extender for BT Hub 5. While searching BT Community forum for a solution, I found this topic: Wifi Extender grief - "Too many redirects." Although the discussion was about another model of the same brand, the problem that I experienced was the same. I gave it away for not to lose more time.

A piece of garbage
Client mode is tedious to configure (device doesn't respond to DHCP requests by default, so you need to connect to it over wifi to access the web interface at first, and quick setup simply results in the device rebooting and nothing changing) and once it's configured it only appears to work with https (http sites cause infinite redirect). Firmware update doesn't change anything. Good job TP-Link, one of the main advertised features doesn't even work. I'm going to try flashing in OpenWRT later, and see if anything changes.

TP-Link WR802N - its a flop!
Didn't live up to expectations. Impossible to connect to Apple TV. Very poor showing by TP-Link. The older slower version is brilliant and I hoped for a little more speed - sadly it was not to be.

Affordable, small, works!
After multiple failed attempt to provide internet connection to a device without wifi capability, decided to try this travel router in client mode. Instruction was clear, setup was smooth, and it performs well so far. Inexpensive and solid option for anyone looking for wifi-to-ethernet adapter. Very happy with the purchase.

Extending Wi-Fi range in house = PERFECT
I am very impressed with how simple this product was to setup and it's performance. Due to the FTTP provider for my estate I am required to have my Modem/Router inside the garage which means the Wi-Fi in the house was sketchy or nonexistent. We do however have data points located throughout the house. After attempting to setup and older router as a range extender and giving up I was looking for something cheap that could service my needs. Enter the TP-Link portable router. It was literally as simple as 1) plug in the power cable 2) Plug in the data cable 3) Enter the network password provided in the box. That's it! My phone handles switching between the networks based on which is strongest and now we have excellent Wi-Fi throughout the whole house. The range of the N Router seems fantastic as even from the other end of the house we still receive a full signal. Extremely happy customer here.
