Best splinter tweezers ever!
These are the best tweezers I've ever owned for removing splinters. The tips are both sharp, and very rigid, so they've stayed in line, haven't bent, and still perfectly align and grip. Also, since the tips are sharp, you can poke down thru the skin and grab a splinter without having to tease it out with a needle.

BEST TWEEZERS FOR SPLINTERS
These are hands down the best tweezers I’ve owned. They are very precise and allow you to easily get the smallest splinters out. Everyone should own these tweezers. I keep mine in my car so it’s always handy.

Good EDC item
These are great for very precise tasks. The tips are sharp so you cannot easily pluck hair… just an fyi. But I do love them and they made it into my EDC

Those who pay for the best get the best.
Had a bloody microscopic splinter in my finger for 4 days. Regular (borrowed) tweezers failed. I got home and was able to get a knife blade under it, but my needlenose pliers and toenail clippers (I know, I got desperate) both failed. I don't dig out splinters with my knife entirely, just because I don't... want to cut myself open? Anyways. I had these CIVIVI tweezers in my cart for several weeks since realizing I didn't have a pair of tweezers in my first aid kit, or even in my household. Only thing that made me hesitate was the price. Of course it did. $30 is a lot for a pair of tweezers! Yesterday, after more failed attempts to extract the splinter, I decided I'd had enough, and I dropped the coin on these, next-day delivery. I received it, unboxed it, and literally under sixty seconds after sitting down with them, the splinter was removed. So let's talk about these tweezers, and about the company behind them. The name CIVIVI caught my attention because I'm familiar with their brand. They make knives, and DAMN classy ones at that, for medium-range prices of $80-130. I own one of their knives and it lives up to its price tag being well-engineered, sturdy, but also having a unique sort of elegance to its design that, as a megapoor who can't afford a $200 knife, I really appreciate. It makes me feel like I have a premium knife without having to pay a premium cost. These tweezers share such design. Their feature of retracting into a metal case works wonderfully. The round screw tightens reliably in the deployed or sheathed positions (or anywhere in between, if you fancy) with finger-tightness. This retractable design also allows the tips of the tweezers to be VERY pointy, which is an absolute boon when dealing with splinters thinner than a human hair. It also means that, if necessary, they can dig into the skin to remove deeply embedded splinters. Mine was embedded BARELY deeply enough to be below flush with my skin. The points are like the tips of two scalpels coming together with perfect precision. Precision that is necessarily held to a high standard, which a renowned knifemaker like CIVIVI would be very used to. The tweezers were smaller than I expected, but that certainly lent to their abilities. This thing is a precision instrument, there's no doubt about it. Also, the finish on it is stunning. It really makes no sense to care about the aesthetics of a pair of tweezers, even less so for CIVIVI to put effort into it when designing them, but they are gorgeous in person. Evident of the pride that CIVIVI takes in the elegance of its products. If it isn't beautiful, it isn't CIVIVI. The leather sheath is real leather, and is mildly challenging to get the tweezers into for the first time, but I imagine it'll get easier over time. The tweezers don't fit entirely within the sheath, but I can't imagine that to be a huge issue for most people. The sheath is helpful for me because it means I can drop these things in my first aid kit and not worry about them scarring up any of the other softer (sometimes paper) materials that they'll be adjacent to.

Might seem strange...
These struck my curiousity, and I thought with the price, just maybe they were quality. I was right. These things are handy, hardy, precise, hardened, needle-sharp, extremely functional tweezers. Splinters? No, these do far greater things. Seriously, they are ultra-high-quality, high carbon tool steel. At least the tweezer blades. I have used these at least 3 times a week since I have gotten them. Perfect keychain size and weight, being its carbon steel.

Perfect for glochids (small cactus spines)
I grow a lot of cacti, and some of them, Opuntioideaes (cacti with "pads") have areola packed with very, very small, barbed glochids. All of this is a fancy way to say, these little dudes are monsters. They go through leather gloves. They stick to anything that brushes up against them. They are like a stinging nettle or jellyfish. They take weeks to come off. And they hurt! Enter CIVIVI tweezers. I have not found a set of tweezers that can reliably grasp the glochids stuck into my skin and have the grip to pull the little, barbed suckers out of my flesh.. They all have a gap that won't grasp these devil's teeth. The CIVIVI tweezers are a fine-tipped, precision tool. They are able to grasp even the smallest spine, the ones that can only be seen in direct sunlight looking across the landscape surface of the flesh. These tweezers are exactly what I've been looking for for months. The tweezers are incredibly well made. These aren't little works of art that must be babied like a jewler's tool. They are made of robust metal. The tweezers themselves retract into a sheath that is stout. I can carry these on a key ring while working in the garden, no problem. Note, the points of the tweezers are fine and sharp enough to pierce skin. The will be great for removing splinters. They are also something you do not want kids playing with. Really, for those who are not careful, the tweezers are a puncture wound waiting to happen. They are stout and sharp. In the right hands, they are tweezer miracles. In the wrong hands, user beware.

Does what you need it to do
This is turned out to be more handy than I thought it would. Nice little set of tweezers perfect for hooking on your keychain or keeping in a EDC kit. It also turned out to be a fun fidget toy.

Good concept but bad practical use.
Concept is great, also good quality construction while compact. However I almost never use these because the tweezer have such difficulty grabbing things due to the fine point ends that it’s hard to grab anything. It’s like trying to tweeze / grab a hair with needles. I’ve even attempted to file the ends down to create more surface area to tweeze easier. I would say these excel at grabbing larger pieces of wood splinters out but they aren’t great for daily hygiene use such as plucking hairs and other small things. Not easy or practical to use.
