Brilliant!
My 9 year old daughter received this for her birthday recently - as a history fan she is thoroughly enjoying this quest book, and has been working on it every night since her birthday!!!Age appropriate and well presented. My only small gripe would be the paper quality of the pages, which is the reason I have taken one star away - a slightly better quality paper would be preferred.

Fun challenges
Can be done by child alone or with another person. My 5 year old enjoyed the storyline through the book. We did it together so she could get the hang of the puzzles. Good variety of puzzles and just the right amount of story line to keep kids hooked. Pages are rough to the touch. Recommended age is spot on which is great - my 5 yo is advanced and the guide helped me make an accurate and informed decision to purchase.

Keeps them quiet
My 10 YO is very impressed with this book. I thought she may have been too old for it and it be too easy. But it keeps her occupied and she doesn't need me to help. Looks like I'll be getting all the others too.

Good book for 8-12 yrs
We took this on holiday. It was a good book for the kids to amuse themselves with at downtime.

Looks a little difficult for a 7 yr old
Good value, and quality but feel it’s more suited to a 9- 10 yr old

Code-breakers
This is a small activity book with a loose narrative. It is ideal for travelling and holidays, keeping both boys and girls entertained.Puzzles include: mazes, spot the difference, number problems and word searches. There is enough variety to ensure broad appeal and I would recommend this for ages 7 years and upwards.Answers are included in the back and it is best to work through the book chronologically to get a drift of the narrative. This also helps to crack the coded message that runs throughout the book. There are lots of illustrations to keep children engaged and I think this is a fun activity book with something a little more on offer because of the narrative. I really like this series. However, you do need to choose your writing instrument carefully: too blunt a pencil and it will not mark the pages; a heavy ink pen will bleed through the paper. Therefore, I would have preferred this book to be in a more durable and practical format: pages that are on better, whiter paper, rather than what you would expect to see in a paperback book; spiral bound or with a hard cover to make it more durable. This is a lovely series and great for children. However, the book will bend and the crease easily which I think should have been considered.
