A Timber Framer's Workshop: Joinery, Design & Construction of Traditional Timber Frames

Nearly......
First, I'd like to say that the author is clearly extremely knowledgeable and some of the work on display in the book is really beautiful and aesthetically lovely to look at. Pretty well every type of joint you could imagine is in here and there are plenty of diagrams of these. What it lacks (for me, an aspiring framer on a pretty simple level to start with), is a step- by-step process including the types of tools and techniques needed to cut these joints and assemble a basic frame. It appears to be aimed at people who already have this knowledge, which does beg the question as to whether they'd need this book in the first place. In essence, I like this book a lot and would love to say I can use it to put an oak roof on the pig shed next to my farmhouse but unfortunately, I think I'll need to assemble the know-how from a number of sources, which is a shame. Nearly, but not quite...... but I still like it.

Very detailed
To add to the other books on Timber Framing. This one goes into more details about the engineering and calculations than others. If timber framing then you should own this book.
