Amazing lightweight, rugged, super accurate solar watch. Been on the hunt for a replacement watch that wasn’t analog and needed something that didn’t need battery replacement, had superior water resistance, easy legibility and a backlight. I currently don’t care about the stop watch or timer functions, but having world time, and a bunch of different time zones to pick from was great. I’m in PST Zone and the watch was set to Los Angeles time zone and did not even need set up, showed the Correct date too.I had a hard time deciding between the 6 band solar and just the solar version, and I couldn’t see myself traveling across the country or world anytime soon so, the solar model fit the bill. Plus, if I ever traveled, all of have to do is select a preset time zone and it would correct for wherever I am in the world with a couple clicks of a button.I used to wear a W800H-1AV and it would constantly break after about a year of wear, so I upgraded to the solar G Shock. It’s no bigger than an Apple Watch or a Fitbit versa 3 and it’s lightweight and feels good on the hand. It has a better band than the W800H-1AV.I bought mine from the seller on Amazon ‘Forever Seconds’ out of Chandler Arizona. Order came super fast. Ordered March 28th, and showed up March 30th around 10am via UPS. Seller had the option for faster shipping and I paid extra for UPS 2nd day air. Otherwise the package would have been delivered estimated 7 days out. I’m really happy with the purchase and hope it lasts as long as some of the other G Shock owners. For $95.78 not including the extra I paid for shipping, this rugged SHTF watch is well worth the purchase.

I was looking for a watch for daily use, simple but with many functions, inexpensive and durable. I chose this G 5600UE model because it is solar and not Multi Band 6 since the signal does not reach where I am going to use it. I had never given the opportunity to a G Shock and after 2 months of having it I don't know why I didn't do it long ago.Excellent piece, perfect size, neither big nor small, light, very legible and cheap enough to not suffer much in case of damage or loss.

It has everything. Already 3 yrs with me and still perfect!

No surprises.Simply strong, functional and solar

The tones/signals emitted from the watch are much quieter than other Casios I own. You will barely be able to hear the alarm unless in a very quiet room and the watch is near your ear. The case on this solar powered watch must have an extra layer that blocks most of the sound. That said I will not be using this watch for as a timer or alarm so I’m ok with it.Other than that, I do like the world time function where I can set 5 other cities and swap them with my home city. The LED light emitted from the side is bright and can be set to 3 seconds or 1.5 seconds before turning off.I’ve got a small wrist of 6 1/4 inches and this smaller G-Shock fits better on my wrist.

I was so impressed by my first G-Shock, a DW-5600, that I upgraded to this the G-56001UE, which is by and large the solar version of the DW-5600 with more alarms and world time. The watch arrived quickly to Australia, in perfect condition and works exactly as described. I haven't yet taken this deep in the ocean, only some pool swimming to about 1.8 metres deep.I do wish Casio would include the auto-repeat countdown timer which is what my DW-5600 has, that's my only bug bear, but I knew that before I ordered the watch.Incidentally, to replace the battery and pressure test my DW-5600 it was going to cost AUD117 ($117 Australian dollars), so I figured I'm better off spending a bit more and buying the solar powered version. The jeweller told me it takes an hour, which is why it's so expensive to replace the battery and pressure test the watch. So to readers considering saving money by buying a non-solar G-Shock, check how much it will cost to replace and pressure test the battery.When I lived in New Zealand it was only NZD40 to replace the battery and pressure test the DW-5600.

I'm retired from the Army and the traditional basic entry level square gshock has been my goto watch since the 80's. I've given them to my sons and grandsons. I'm 70 and recently stoped wearing the 5600e because it was hard for me to read at a glance during the day. It was also hard for me to even at night unless I held it (illuminated) at an angle. I tried the 5610 , 5600e-ijf and others. They were a bit better but not much.The "u" versions came out and I tried them. 1st the 5610u then this one. For me, MUCH better visibility in daytime. It is also much better at night because of the LED lighting. I don't have to squint and hold the watch at an angle to clearly see the time. It's also solar which is a plus but not the main reason I kept it.I returned the 5610u The legibility was also good but I didn't need the signal update every night. These watches have a pepetual calander and the time is constantly accurate "almost" to the second. This one doesn't have a red line which is kind of a positive point for me and a bit nostalgic for me because non of the ones I've worn all these years had one(that I can remeber 🙃 )The service was great. I Received the watch about 24 hrs after I ordered it in perfect condition.

This is a great solar G Shock. Have had it for 6 months now and has functioned perfectly and is within two seconds a month. Fully recommend if you’re needing a functional, durable, accurate, water resistant watch. Great for outdoor, fitness, and sporting use.

Éste es un reloj que lo tiene de todo, y además es muy muy sencillo, no está muy ostentoso y parece muy duradero. Creo que es su único, pero es que la correa está un poco rígida. Podría ser un poco más suave.El tamaño es mediano, no se ve muy pequeño, pero tampoco se ve muy grande de los Casio es el que más me ha gustado aunque para viajes uso otro, pero para uso diario está perfecto. Lo recomiendo mucho. Además, esta versión está corregida ciertas cosas de la versión anterior.

I'll readily admit to being a G-Shock geek and have 39 of them (40 now that this came). Have always wanted one of these and finally bit the bullet. Love it! At its most simple it's your entry level 5600 with solar charging and no atomic time. Where it does shine is it's just ever so slightly smaller than the 'regular' 5600 so it fits us small wristed folks ever better. It's a minor difference and you really can't tell unless you hold it up beside another 5600 but it's there. Right now it's my most worn G so obviously still in the honeymoon period, haha.
