Great timesaver - easy to use - no reset switches to bother with, etc.I am new to all things Arduino and struggled to flash an ESP-01 boards I have with just the Arduino IDE based on wiring setups I saw on YouTube, etc. This device takes away all that extra work.Just a couple of notes if your run into issues getting setup:My first attempts on one Windows 10 PC weren't encouraging - Timeout packet errors, board not found errors, etc. when I attempted to upload a sketch. The setup doc link gives very basic instructions on setting up the device. I tried another Windows 10 machine I have and it worked right away - basically plug and play!I had inadvertently set the Reset Method for the Generic ESP8266 Module in the Arduino IDE to "no dtr" based on bad advice on the problem PC (should be dtr aka nodemcu). I also manually deleted the CH341 drivers and reinstalled them from the link provided in the vendor description. Problems corrected.

This is better than 2 others I tried.Works with both ESP-01 & ESP-01s.Has as extra header, so you can connect to a breadboard while connected to the ESP-01(s) - soooo handy (though I wish they were on opposite sides...You don't need to unplug it & replug it in to program.I don't think you even have to press the reset button, it just works - programs, then resets & you can connect over serial.One I tried (Black one with yellow connector from MakerFocus) wouldn't program. You have to solder GPIO to GND to get into programming mode. I soldered in a button, but was janky & not ideal.Another I tried (Red one with yellow connector from WishIOT) has a switch, which helped, to switch from programming mode to serial mode that basically jumpered GPIO to GND.But this is just so much easier - none of that headache. Just works. (after you figure out all of the SW headache, but the HW just works...)

This device makes programming ESP8266 so much easier. No more manually resetting the ESP8266 and changing the selector switch every time you download a sketch (USB - Red version). Just Build and Upload and away you go. ESP8266 auto resets and starts running your code.

Had no trouble updating an ender-3 with this as well as an ender-2. Wasn't difficult to use.

If you have more than one of those ESP-01 or ESP-01S modules on hand, and you've been programming these using a cobbled-together circuit (see above, LOL), you owe yourself the 'luxury' of one of these adapters. OMG! These are so nice. No problem whatsoever programming through the Arduino IDE, no timing problems pushing buttons or pulling pins low, etc. They just work, and fingers crossed they will for years to come.

This product works great, was kind of skeptical about receiving a working product considering just about all the other programmers out there are adapters and not really programmers. This is a programmer, and software handles the button pushing, so no pushing button to upload from arduino IDE. The ESP01s module said 4mb flash, I thought no way its a typo, its no typo, it really does have 4mb flash. Used arduino IDE with Windows 10, no problems.

I have spent hours trying to get this to program, not sure if I have a bad programmer or what. I do the download and the blue light flashes but it will not take the download. It seems that there might not be making a good connection as when I wiggle the ESP-01 the lights flash and windows un-detects and re-detects the module.

Much easier than the ttl boards where you have to use jumper wires. I had one already like that, then saw this and love it.
