This stylish, light up kettle looks great in my kitchen. Boils quickly easy to pour. Everything I expect from Russell Hobbs at an affordable price.

I bought this in a deal including a toaster (which is also excellent). Love the blue light that comes on when it’s coming to boil. I didn’t realise that there’s no button to release the lid when filling, but it’s no hardship to take off the lid. A great addition to the kitchen.

Boiled water fine. Easy to clean. looked great.Unfortunately as lid was taken off to refill the spout shattered off, we had got this less than a month ago.It had to be returned for a refund. Hoping its just a one off but sadly its put me off another glass kettle

My first one was ok although the gauze disintegrated after a few weeks, replacements are over £10 so I didn't bother, the gauze is too small for it's frame anyway. The kettle stopped turning itself off after a year or so I bought another. After a few months, the glass neck of the kettle broke in my hands - I put it down to me being clumsy, even though I didn't mishandle it. My third kettle broke in exactly the same place after a few weeks when I wasn't even touching it. It seems clear to me that the glass is too thin or not strong enough. I contacted customer services who asked for photos. I sent them multiple clear photos and disposed of the kettle and glass as I have pets in the house. Customer services then asked for a receipt. I downloaded the invoice from Amazon and emailed it to them, along with the invoice of the prior kettle which had also broken so they could see how long that one had lasted before breaking. They then asked for a photo of the serial numbers from the bottom of the kettle, despite knowing I'd thrown it away as it was dangerous. I reminded them I'd not kept the kettle as they hadn't asked me to and they said I therefore had no claim. I then pointed out this has happened to two of their kettles, same model, and said I wasn't going to buy another until they'd checked if there was a design flaw - they actually refused to look at their kettles to see if there was a weakness causing the glass to implode after a few weeks, they really didn't care.I can't recommend this kettle because it's far too dangerous and only lasts a few weeks. Complete waste of money and terrible customer services.

Good, smart-looking kettle. Boils quickly and has a commendably low "minimum fill level" BUT...The wide base means it is difficult to fill accurately: our regular two-cup boil often gets filled twice as high as needed. Every time, though, that it is filled, there is a little sinking of the heart. The lack of a flip lid means either dragging the lid off - not a trivial task, particularly with arthritic fingers, or dribbling water in slowly through the spout.Yes, it looks good and boils well. But I won't be replacing it when it dies.

My 2nd purchase of this very stylish kettle, but being glass, it requires careful handling at the tap to refill! Learned that by bashing the spout on my previous one causing the glass to break, hence this 2nd purchase. Looks good, boils quickly, and is completely see through which is what we like as only fill a small amount for a cuppa. The only thing I didn’t like was the delivery, it was quick, next day, but, just came in the flimsy kettle box, bit of cellotape holding it closed, thin piece of plastic wrapping around the kettle inside but nothing else to protect it, and being glass, I’m surprised it arrived in one piece! My previous one bought from Robert Dyas was super well wrapped for delivery but not this time from my Amazon purchase!!
