It's a rigid wide strap around the neck. It works for what I need at work, but not really comfortable.

I just had my 2nd round of radioactive iodine for cancer treatment and purchased this for my son to keep him safe around me, for flights, and dental exams. I am radioactive for a few weeks and this helps give me peace of mind even though I am keeping my distance still. He doesn't wear it often but when we have to be in close proximity to each other. I tested this and a gieger reading and it DOES intercept/block what is being emitted, so it does actually work in that reguarss. It does have a very strong scent/ smell when you first open it but I washed the front and back surface 4 times with dawn dish soap and dried and the smell has dissipated significantly. Overall, great buy in my opinion.

Good, but I didn't like the smell of lead so returned.
