Good, Candid, Honest Cycling Story
This was a candid account of Davidβs cycling career. It is an engaging account of his cycling career. The highs and lows; the wins and losses. It is definitely worth reading. Enjoyable and educational for cyclists who want to know more about the inner workings of the Peloton and Pro Cycling Teams. I want to say a big thank you and well done to Mr. Miller on this good work. He definitely garnered more respect from me personally.

David Miller The Class and Conscious of Cycling
David Miller is one of my favorite pros! I was super pissed that Garmin failed to honor his career and left him off their Tour roster in his final year! Justic may have been how poorly the team did that year. While Dave may have pulled his punch with this book he did call out the lack of class of JV and others! More to the point he once again demonstrated his own class, ability to tell a story and real passion for the sport we all love. This is perhaps the best follow up to his first book and I hope this is the 2nd of many books to come....

Great Read
This book has gotten somewhat mixed reviews in the media and I am not really sure why. It's smart, funny, and seems to have capured Millar's final year; a mix of melancholy, relief, and anticipation of the future, quite well. Unlike many books recently released by former cyclists, Millar's is conspicuously absent a ghost writing credit or co-author. The book feels to, very much, be a work of his own. I look forward to his future books.

Fantastic, vibrant
Fantastic, vibrant, convincing and upclose personal. David Millar is a true and honest human being and passionate about cycling. A winner of a book on the same level as his amazing "Riding through the dark" book.

Excellent insight into life of a pro race and well written
David Millar's earlier book - Racing Through the Dark - is perhaps my favourite sporting biography. The latest book, The Racer, whilst being much more for a cyclist enthusiast, doesn't disappoint. I like the writing style and the story comes across as very honest as well as insightful. I thoroughly recommend both books. My only gripe with The Racer is the quality of most of the photos (paperback copy). They are so poorly printed that they are illegible (there's a series of postcards sent to his sons that I stopped trying to decipher), why bother including? Hence 4/5 rather than 5/5

Brilliant Book For Anyone Interested in Pro Cycling
This was well written and wonderfully absorbing. Along with G's first book, it is my favourite book by a cyclist. It is amusing and interesting in equal measures with some great anecdotes. It also doesn't try to air brush David Miller's past. It feels like a true warts and all telling, though obviously I don't know if it is. Could all be fiction for all I know, but definitely an enjoyable read.

The Racer revealed
As a keen cyclist, I read several cycling related books a year & thoroughly enjoyed this one. It's a look behind the curtain, and presented in a conversational manner - if you're offended by swearing it won't be the book for you. But if you fancy spending a caffeinated afternoon with David Millar and chatting about all aspects of a pro bike racers life, this book's for you.

The inside story of pro cycling
In This inside story of professional cycling David gives us the highs and lows of his final year of his career. The detail of training ,competing and the friendships made over his career make this a must read for anyone who's watched the Tour De France and and wondered what makes those riders get to that level of fitness to keep going for those three gruelling weeks.
