Q: can this be used for filling horse water in the field?

While technically you can; however it is primarily intended for garden watering systems and is not for drinking water. As a horse owner myself I would not use this. What you really need is to extend mains water pipe to your field using MDPE pipe and fittings to an auto water drinker specifically for horses. I hope this helps.

Q: Will the pipe flatten and melt in hot conditions

I’ve had this for just under a year and it was in place during last years heat wave and it is still ok.
