Exceeded Expectations in Every Way--Responsive Communication--A REAL 1000 Day Wty; UPDATE 11-09-24
5th Update (11-9-2024) I now have 10,000 miles on these 3 1/2 yr old wheels and they continue to be rock-solid. They remain true and spoke- tension is even throughout. Impressive at any cost, but ~$400 they're a relative steal. Were I to buy new ones I'd go with 21mm inner width rims to enable wider tires. I'm now running 700X30MM hybrid tubeless tires which and they're fine but I can't go any wider on the 19mm rims. NBD. 4th Update (12-31-2023) Another 1,500 miles , another update. All is good. Were I not superstitious I'd sell my truing stand. Both wheels are still true in every direction. I've added a few more scratches to the rims which annoys me -- my responsibility of course -- but everything else about the wheels is as you'd want: trouble free. 32 months of ownership. Solidly 5 stars. 3rd UPDATE (10-4-22) 7,000 miles total and the wheels are rock solid. Even after a crash while turning with a flat front tire (my fault) which knocked me out yet not the wheel, the spoke tension and trueness are holding. If we're giving up something with this $400 carbon wheelset (weight?) compared with known brands I have yet to find it. Noisy hub if I have to come up with a negative. NBD. Amazing value and quality. 2nd UPDATE (12-30-21) I've put on another 1500 miles after the last update bringing the total mileage on the wheels to 3,500. They continue to be rock solid. They are true and holding spoke tension. My previous comments and recommendation have been reinforced. Quality for price is outstanding. UPDATE (10-7-21) after 4 months and over 2000 miles: Still true with consistent spoke tension. An unexpected bonus is that the tubeless tires hold their seal without air when I'm refreshing sealant. I can use a floor pump to reinflate. Reflects the quality of the wheel build. Solid all around and a great value. Very pleased with my experience (The front wheel is a bit scratched from carelessly putting in my truck bed. Obviously, that's on me! ) ORIGINAL REVIEW: Except for two issues which were a nuisance but not worthy of one less star -- I'll discuss them later -- I'm very pleased with these, my first set of carbon wheels. I'm an experienced cyclist and I do all my wrenching. Can I give you an opinion on the relative merits of this wheelset compared with others made of carbon? Of course not, but I did considerable research in general, and specifically on ELITE, a company I was unfamiliar with, I took a chance on it, and after 470 miles I'm completely satisfied. I hope to add to this review at the end of the year after 2500 more miles. I purchased the 50mm X 27 MM tubeless set and installed 700X25 Continental 5000TL (tubeless) tires (despite the colossal pain with mounting them.) . I wanted wider rims to get the proper aero effect (Look-up 105 rule), which were not easy to find at this price level. I ride in Tucson AZ on roads that vary in surface quality and I was concerned with harshness from the new wheels Coming from custom-made tubeless metal wheels which were very comfortable on rough surfaces I was apprehensive. To my pleasant surprise, these are even better -- something I did not expect. No harshness and they roll beautifully. When the wheels arrived I checked the true and spoke tension. Absolutely spot-on. After the 470 miles they're still true, if just a wee-bit off on lateral, and spoke tension is holding. Nice. Undoubtedly it's partially a placebo effect, but my metrics are up over the three weeks I've been riding with them. Road feedback is great and they are stable at any speed. Over 18-20MPH I could feel the aero effect. The 3k brake track is as advertised -- with carbon-specific pads the brake feel and action is very good. Carbon wheels with rim brakes are known to have a delay in braking versus metal rims. I found that to be minimal. One thing I don't like is the noisy hub. I came from an Ultegra freehub which was very quiet. I expected more noise. and. alas, I got it. It's a personal thing and not a big deal. I'm already adjusting to it. It's a form. not a functional thing. Some customization is possible. I asked for red spoke nipples, 3K gloss finish and black logos -- no problem. Inside the rim of one wheel was a lump of dried resin which should have been removed before leaving the factory. I was concerned my tubeless tires would not seat correctly. ELITE owned the issue immediately and gave a remedy that it admitted I should not have had to employ. I mounted the tires without sanding the bump and the tires seated fine. A bonus, is that both wheels with sealant are holding pressure longer than with my previous wheels. The company's estimate of one month to get to you is very optimistic -- at least in my case -- and I advise patience when a week or two could go by without an update particularly if it uses a certain carrier. Think Singapore. Could I have bought lighter wheels made of better carbon, better spokes and a ceramic hub housed in carbon which was less noisy? Of course, but not at this price. It sells widely in China (you can probably guess where) and is relatively new to Amazon. It's a big company and I'd reckon an OEM manufacturer as well. I confirmed in writing that its 1000 day warranty does NOT require you to send a wheel back IF it is covered. In my experience that's where disreputable Asian sellers earn their bad reps. This has to be one of the best values for carbon wheels extant today. I'm a very happy customer.

Outstanding wheelset!!
When I neded a new wheelset for my rim brake CX bike, I looked long and hard. I finally decided to pull the trigger on these Elite wheels. The process was dead simple, and communication with the manufacturer was excellent. As you can see, I ordered white decals, over the stock black. Elite sent me photos during the build process, and of the wheelset upon completion. Shipping took about 3 weeks to get to me. Now...for the wheels... Dead true and round out of the box. Spokes were all evenly tensioned & the hubs were smooth. The rear hub was a little tight, and lacked a bit of grease in the freehub. Thankfully, the hubs are easy to pull apart and service. As I said, these went on my CX bike. New Velox rim tape, latex tubes, and Donnelly LAS tires got thrown on. Because of the WIDE rims, the 33mm LAS rubber measured more like 38mm. I'm an old, and quit racing a decade ago, but this CX bike gets a LOT of action...probably more than my road bike. All surfaces. All conditions. I do NOT go easy on this bike. The wheels have been bulletproof. 6+ months and not so much as touched, other than to clean the bike once in a great while. Still dead true and round. They're plenty stiff, and light enough. At 45mm deep, the aero benefit is there, but you don't get blown into traffic by crosswinds. DEFINITELY faster, even with fat file treads on them, than the old carbon wheels that came off the bike. And they just look good... Great value for the money. So much so that I bought another 50mm deep/25mm wide set for my road bike.

GREAT wheels
Shockingly amazing considering the price. Get the 60mm. They look great and are really well built. Clean and well manufactured. Came packaged well too. Free hub sounds very cool!

Good Value, True out of the Box
I recently had a spoke-nipple fail on a 10+ (more like 15) year old pair of Reynolds Assault wheels and decided to try out the Elitewheels. The shipping time was good and the wheels were very well packaged and have a very high level of finish. I have about 100 miles on the rear wheel--still not using the front wheel at this point since it's very windy here this time of year and I'm using a shallower cross section carbon wheel on the front. Before mounting tires, I checked the wheels in a truing stand. They were dead on. Tension on the spokes seemed good and uniform. I like that the wheel has external spoke nipples instead of the internal ones. The 82 mm wheels need a short extension on a 100 mm tubeless presta valve to easily inflate them. In the truing stand I noticed the rim where the tire mounts is absolutely round and true, but the central portion of the rim has slight variation around the wheel, so if you got a serious cut in your tire, but had an inner tube and wanted to limp home on it, you probably could but would get a little hoppy/bumpy ride at high speed maybe. It's not an issue at all for the tubeless tires. So far on my rides they seem great. They're solid, make a great noise when accelerating out of the saddle on smooth roads, and roll down the road without any issues. These are a great value compared to brands like Zipp or Reynolds. I don't see any reason they won't hold up at least as well. I would definitely buy again and maybe will get a shallower cross section wheelset too. It's nice to see what seem like great quality wheels for sale at a more affordable price.

High quality budget carbon rims
These are impressive and well made carbon wheels. Excellent subtle finished look. Rims are true both radially and laterally. Spoke tension is uniform. The 82mm rim depth is perfect for time trial and triathlon. The rounded shape works well in crosswinds. Reasonable weight for a deep section rim. The straight pull hubs roll smoothly and have a nice sleek look to them. The oval/bladed spokes are a nice aerodynamic bonus. Sadly, my TT bike only has about 1mm of clearance (on either side) due to chainstay curvature for the 28mm width. While they do fit, the margin of clearance is to small for safety reasons. If you have clearance for 28mm wide rims these are an excellent choice.

Great upgrade for those still on rim brakes
Stellar wheels, they barely fit my '12 Scott Addict cx bike but I made it work. I really like this bike and am not interested in upgrading to a disc brake bike for a while as this one fits me so comfortably but I wanted a good upgrade. This was a great upgrade and totally worth it. The stiffness is great and 200 miles in (long ride of 40 so far) I am really happy with them. I use my cx bike for both gravel and cx and knew these would shine on gravel reading other reviews. For cx, they preform really well and are great for quick accelerations out of corners and up short steep hills. Also they bunny hop really well. The supplied brake pads fit my avid shorty's no problem.

Better Than Expected
I was not expecting much. Bought the set to mount on my trainer bike to free up my high end HUNT wheelset. This review is a first impression and I'll revisit later after I've had a chance to ride them outdoors. Set is well packaged and while the carrier damaged the carton the contents were not and that's what matters. Pros: True and properly tensioned out of the box; the rim bed and lip are smooth as glass and I see no evidence of voids in the layup; rim depth, inner/outer width all well within spec. I was able to mount a 700x28 Schwalbe Pro1 clincher with relative ease. I should note that while the wheelset is TBl ready I have reverted to tubes, TPU, and won't look back so the tire is a 30-40 grams lighter than its tubeless counterpart., much easier to install, and NO sealant snot to contend with. They look great with the logo graphic subdued where it doesn't come off like a rolling billboard. Cons: The hubs are not substantial, and freehub engagement is LOUD. The free hub itself looks weak, we'll see. More later but for the money Elite wheels just might be a hidden jem. The quality of direct to consumer Chinese frame and wheel products has improved dramatically over the past 10 years to the point they compete head to head with traditional western brands in performance, safety, and aesthetics. The big problem is and will remain getting them here (US), it'a a long way by cargo ship. Unless you're sponsored the day of non pro cyclists paying 3k for a set of premium brand wheels is coming to an end. ZIPP, ENVE, BORA and the like are on notice.

I think Elite wheels are a good choice
Design and quality are really good. I'm running these with TPU tubes. I will be flipping these over to tubeless once I have some time to do that. For me I like rim brake bikes eventhough I have disc bikes. Overall the build quality is really good and they perform great. I taken these out on short 15 mile rides and my avg speed is higher than the disc bikes. The wheels came true. The rear cassette is bit louder but honestly it doesn't bother me. It actually helps with people walking the roads imo. If you have a rim brake bike that you desire to get carbon wheels, I think Elite (this model) is a good choice to consider. 7/5. I flipped over to tubeless using Orange Sealant and Michelin Power Cup TLR 28mm and everything went as expected. The tires seated with the rims with no problem. No leaks not even a little. It’s important to seat the tires before adding sealant. I did this with a high volume floor pump. 10/18- bought the 50mm and they are just as good. A tad harder to mount the tire but doable. Smooth running. I like these wheels. The 38mm are still going strong.
