Our dog(half Jack Russel, half Dachshund) spent 4 hours in the kennel with this bed. This is by no way chew proof. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!Update: I received an email back from the manufacturer. They want to send me a new one and then they want me to spray it with some type of bitter spray....that should make it chew proof. Give me a break!!!Update 2: The manufacturer will NOT refund my money, they insist that they can only send me another worthless bed. I would avoid buying ANY products from K9 Ballistics!!!Update 3: I contacted Amazon customer service. they then contacted the supplier. I will get a full refund within 48 hours.I will NEVER buy a K9 Ballistics product again.Update 4: After contacting K9 Ballistics everyday since I received this product and contacting Amazon twice(in which I was told and have the transcripts) that I would receive a full refund. K9 Ballistics has once again refused to provide a full refund. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, IT IS NOT CHEW PROOF!!!Update 5: After chatting with Amazon personnel on 2 separate occasions and being told both times I would receive a full refund, I had no choice but to accept a 50% refund because it was that or nothing. I will never buy a K9 Ballistics product again, You would be very smart if you didn’t either!!! AMAZON FAIL, K9 BALLISTICS FAIL!!!Just because: I did receive my refund(50%). I hope I can steer one person in the right direction (away from this product) so they can find something that actually does what it says it does...

If there were negative stars the rating would be MUCH lower. I bought this when I purchased a crate for my lab puppy, Because the dog was too little for the full crate the pad lived on top of the crate for over 2 months. I bought a toy made out of the same(?) "ripstop nylon" when the dog was 2 months old. The toy has no holes, the TUFF Crate Pad didn't even last 2 full weeks before my puppy tore a hole in it. The polyester stuffing is not a bonus when eaten by a puppy. I've uploaded a photo of the not-TUFF-at-all pad and my puppy's very tough chew toy- both made of nylon fabric. The toy has no holes in any of the nylon body (the felt face is demolished) even though she has chomped on it daily for the 3 months she has had it.Her blue rag rug also has no holes and the rope toy is the same age as the other toy.The manufacturer has responded with an offer of 50% refund and a lame attempt to commiserate saying "if they got through ours they most definitely have gone through many more". NO! she has not,

I did like the outside material of this dog bed, but everything else about it was terrible.I have owner large breed dogs fo 20 years now, and have owned a dog boutique for the last 12 years. I am a professional groomer by trade for 23 years if that information helps in this honest review.My dog hated this bed.I was not happy about that fact, because it was a pretty blue, was expensive, and matched my decor, but try as I might to coax her to use it she continued to sleep elsewear.Major cons of this bed as I saw it were that it is VERY thin. If you stand on it you can feel that it provides no cushion at all. I was going to say that if you have an arthritic dog definatly do not buy this bed, but honestly even a young and healthy dog deserves a better measure of comfort.This bed is horrible for hardwood floors. It slides around and is scary to a dog.Even when moved to a carpeted area where it did not slide around my dog preferred to lay beside it, on just the carpet.I finally gave up and bought another bed, which as I write this review she is happily snoring upon! I applied for a return but the return policy on this bed for the price you have paid is absolute GARBAGE. Pretty much if your dog touches it you ar NOT getting a refund. So all of the efforts you have employed.. covering it with their favorite blankets, giving them treats on it. Come here baby, down and stay.. Just screws you out of a refund on a crappy quality, very expensive bed they hate. Read the return policy. If there is a way to get out of a refund for a DOG bed it's in there! Trust me and look elsewhere. Your dog definatly deserves a better bed, and you definatly deserve more for your money!

Update: DO NOT BUYI was originally very excited when I received this bed, but it's doesn't hold up over time at all. Within a few weeks my dog had started tearing it up. I waited a while to see if he would stop tearing it up when he realized it wasn't easy or fun to rip appart, but he kept at it. Now, it's been less than a year and the bed is torn up and the company refuses to replace it. WAY too much money to spend on something that only lasts a few months. You'd be better off spending a little more money at a different company for something that is actually durable than having to pay $90 every few months to replace this thing.Original: I love the zip-tie feature this bed has, I think it will really help keep my dog from chewing it. My 1-year-old husky has sensitive skin and is developing raw patches on the back of his feet from laying on the hard pan in his crate. I tried a variety of other beds and blankets but the beds got eaten and the blankets got pushed to the side so they weren't protecting his feat. This bed fits his crate perfectly and made it through the first night without a scratch. Will update this in the future to see how it holds up over time. The extra squeaky ball they included was a nice touch too - my husky already killed the squeaker, but it's always nice to have an extra ball on hand, and he was so excited playing with that while i was setting up his bed he didn't seem interested in the novelty of a new bed to chew on. Hoping the rough material is soft enough to help with his skin issues, but so far I'm very happy with this product.

Our pad was received yesterday and our dog (snoodle -15 lbs or so) liked and lied down on it for a while and fits his crate well.However, on day 1, already developed a tear (see pic). We'll keep an eye on the next few days to see if any more tears develop.I'd recommend they use a tougher material.

Not indestructible, but better than the cheaper ones found at local pet stores.While not a complete failure hence the 3 stars, my dog did manage to get some decent holes in this mat within his first day in his crate with it. Thankfully, with the rip-stop fabric, these holes have managed to stay relatively small and he didn't get much stuffing out of it.With a combination of some good spritzes with bitter apple, the crate pad is still doing strong albeit some chew holes on the edge padding. The central padding section is still fully intact.One big benefit is that the bottom corners of the mat are set up to put through some zip ties to fasten it down to the bottom of the crate. If we put our guy in there when he was frustrated he used to pull up the pad and chew on the edge, now he can't.Our dog is also getting older and maturing a little so is not really throwing tantrums on the mat so that also plays a part on its continued existence.Overall, I'd say that if you can afford it give it a shot, but I would not have bought it given its performance. I would have instead purchased on of theirs or another makers hammock bed (the ones with the metal or plastic frame around a canvas or nylon material bed)

Horrible bed. My dog had holes chewed in it within 4 hours.

My dog tore through this on the first day of use. Not worth the amount of money!
