Penn Plax Cascade 700 & 1000 Canister Filter Replacement Motor Unit Gasket

Replaced original after leaking cover. With penn-plax would highly recommend you keep an extra o-ring on stand-by (sealed) for immediate use when your canister filter starts leaking.Would recommend checking seal (pump off) after cleaning/servicing in case electricity goes off, and drains your aquarium because the seal is bad.

Yep, after 5 years of faithful service which has included at least monthly filter exchanges, the 700 canister started developing mineral trails where apparent slow drips were appearing.Even though I cleaned the original gaskets, the drips continued.Until I obtained this gasket. It was an exact duplicate of the original Penn-Plax gasket, slipped in place perfectly, and now the drip-trails are no more.

Purchased thus gasket because my filter developed a small leak. Installed new gasket and it leaked worse than my original. Contacted seller and was told to lubricate the gasket with petroleum jelly, which I did. Gasket still leaked. Maybe I got a defect.

Twice the cost than if you buy direct from the company, but I was ordering 6 months of supplies and it made sense.

Little leaks turned into big puddle. Once this new gasket was in place, no more water issues!

I really needed this gasket for my canister filter. It was expensive BUT exactly what I needed for the filter to work and not leak. So, it was worth it!!
