It Works!
I recently found out that I am highly allergic to cats. Of course, I have 2 of them. The allergist said that I could get the shots, but that I would have to come in once a week at first. Eventually the duration between visits would increase, but I would have to keep going for a while. Even worse, he said that I would have to stay there for 30 minutes after receiving the shot so they could make sure I didn't have a bad reaction. All of this is just too much of a time investment for me, since I have to work during normal office hours. I decided to give Allergena a try and I am glad that I did! I have been using it for about 2 weeks and it is working. The first few days I didn't notice much of a difference, but after a week my allergies had improved quite a bit. Before I used it I would be able to feel my allergy symptoms suddenly subside after I left the apartment. My sinus pressure and mental fogginess would disappear during the drive to work. Now when I leave the apartment, I don't feel some sudden change because I am just not having the same reaction to the cats as I used to. I really wasn't expecting it to work so well, but it does. I am glad to have finally found something that works! What remains to be seen is how long I will have to continue to take the drops. The allergist I saw mentioned immunotherapy drops as an option (though the ones he mentioned would have cost $40) and said that they, like the shots, have to be taken for a while. It was sounding like the time frame was more likely a matter of years as opposed to months, but he didn't give me a definite answer. I go the impression that the duration of treatment is a test and go thing. From what he said it seems that over time you can increase the duration between doses, depending on how your symptoms are improving. I guess I will find out as I go along. I am just glad to have found something that is both effective and easy. Yeah, you do have to take the drops three times a day, but that is simple enough. Sure beats needless suffering!

Works for me
Using these drops is basically the same thing as getting expensive allergy shots from a doctor. All you need to do to stop your sinuses from responding with inflammation, and a stuffy nose when you are exposed to allergens is to introduce that allergen into your body through a method other than inhaling it into your sinus. When you get the shot there is a dose of what you are allergic to in the syringe. It is introduced into your body intravenously. With these drops it is introduced through the membrane under your tongue. That being said, these drops are more like a shotgun where the shots are like a sniper. These shots have concentrations from many animals in them. The shots would be tailored specifically to the one or two things you are allergic to. In my opinion I would rather be covered against many animal danders rather than just cats, which is why I am taking these drops. You are covered against Cat, Dog, Horse, Cattle, Mouse (Rat), Hamster (Gerbil), Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Hog, Chicken, Duck and Goose. I don't know if I am allergic to mice or geese, but it doesn't hurt to be covered just in case.I already took one course of the drops and my allergy to my cat is pretty much gone, whereas before I was suffering daily, especially if he was shedding or got up in my face. This doesn't last forever, and I have purchased a second bottle to have on hand if I start showing symptoms again. It takes a couple weeks for this to take effect, and I don't want to have to suffer through an extra week of allergies waiting for it to ship.I have also ordered the Zone 6 Tree Weed and Grass Extract formula in anticipation of the upcoming spring allergy season. I will post a review of that product after I have determined if it works as good as the Pet formula.I was actually involved in the FDA study to finally make sublingual allergy treatments available in the U.S. at National Jewish Hospital where I took drops sublingually for Timothy grass allergies. Before the study they tested me to make sure I was allergic to Timothy grass and I was. Over the next couple months I took sublingual drops of a solution with Timothy Grass concentration in it. The next spring my allergies were greatly reduced (there were other things in the air that I was allergic to and since the study was only for Timothy grass I still suffered from them).

Cured me
After adopting my third cat I realized I was allergic to them, especially his dander in specific. My eyes would intensely itch and burn everyday as well as swelling and redness. I also had very a very itchy nose and overall nasal discomfort.Well, within a week or so this gave me complete relief and I have not had ANY painful itching at all since then. It’s like magic, I swear.I will say, it’s running out fast but it’s well worth the money I’ll be spending to restock. If you have animal allergies PLEASE just give this a try before getting discouraged and surrendering your animals.

I am convinced this rid me of my cat allergies
I am convinced this worked for me. Unfortunately my husband is allergic to cats as well as to the idea of anything natural being effective. He refuses to try it and always thinks if something works for me it's the placebo effect. For some history - I have been mildly allergic to cats since childhood, but since I grew up with them I find my symptoms more manageable than his (who grew up in a very sterile household with no pets). He also has several other allergies. We have a cat who he became allergic to 2 years in, and we (I) try to manage the allergies the best we can. I wish he would take this instead of the medications he's on, which seem less effective over time. This is all an aside, as for the review - our cat goes on trips for several weeks at a time to another home to alleviate his allergies for that time. I find mine flare up strongly upon her return (I do better if she stays, as I seem to develop an immunity, I don't do well with the back and forth). The last time she came home the flared the worst I've ever had. I get itchy watery eyes, contact dermatitis around my eyes, and sneeze, some congestion. We are best buddies and I don't limit my exposure to her, and I was really suffering. I started taking this about 2 weeks after she got home 2 times ago, along with regularly drinking nettle tea, and my symptoms lessened and went away. I can't know whether it was the time that helped or this. But on her return this past time, I didn't need to take either at all and I feel allergy-free. I didn't even need to take an entire bottle. I really hope to convince my husband to try this and if so I will post an update.
