Moen920-006 Flo Smart Detector 6-Foot Leak Sensing Cable, White

Used in the water leak subsystem of my home automation system. Tried several commercial water leak detection products but all came with a discrete sensor that only detects a leak if placed in a depression under the source. This sensor cord is so much better as it is 6 feet in length and can be connected in a chain of up to 3. It can detect water leaks along its whole length. Uses. Standard 3.5 mm connection. I have this connected via low voltage wiring to an ESP32 microcontroller that can handle 5 of these detector cords For most non-diy people, I would suggest replacing the discrete sensor that comes with most leak detection products with this cord sensor. Those discrete sensors are not very useful where you are not able to place them in sump directly under your washing machine for example. They are likely to miss small leaks but would work well if a pipe burst...

I bought these to notify me of any leaks. I lost faith in these when they proved to be unreliable. We packed the sensors and cables (all 19) in their original boxes and sent them back. Apparently this was not good enough and I am out over $1000. They said I used these. Yes I did. I placed all 19 sensors and cables around the house. This was a pain trying to pair these things. I had to pack them up and ship them out. So my advice is don’t spend anything on electronics that might not get refunded.

The price for this item was very high, but I had no other option available. The cost of the extension cable is very close in price for a full water detection unit. Flo by Moen should consider providing a longer cable with the original unit. Again, I had no option, the item is far too expensive for what it entails.

Wow, this whole system including the water detector devices was just terrible. Bought 6 in the hopes of rolling this out throughout our condo, but of the 6 - 4 failed to sync with the wifi, 2 did connect but the actual water sensors didn't detect water. Literally submerged them in a water dish and - nothing. Will try to return to Amazon.

It’s 5ft, not 6ft. A FULL FOOT difference in length. It’s either false advertising or sheer incompetence or both.Once I try the cable itself I’ll update my review.
